U.S. Department of State — E-Waste Program

The FRE-E-WASTE program is a two-day workshop, followed by a co-production of a manual on e-waste for Southeast Asian environmental enthusiasts aged between 18 to 35. The program aims to raise awareness on the problem of e-waste and educate that greenhouse gasses could be reduced or avoided if e-waste were properly treated and recycled. Global Water Partnership-Caribbean — Youth Workshop Caribbean

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) invites applications to the workshop “To Save the Water…Let’s Talk About Shit”. The workshop will focus on the roles of Youth and the Media in Caribbean Wastewater Management. Participation is open to Caribbean Youth and Journalists residing in Caribbean countries. As part of the workshop, participants will also be given the opportunity to create social media content to raise awareness amongst the wider public. United States Agency for International Development — Youth-led Climate Action MENA

USAID seeks climate change and environmental solutions from youth-led organizations across the MENA region. Organizations are invited to submit applications for a regional grant competition where selected organizations will receive up to US$62 thousand to implement their proposed climate initiatives. Applicants must be locally registered in one of the following countries: Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Jordan, Tunisia, West Bank/Gaza or Yemen. The application deadline is 19 August 2022. U.S. Department of State — TechCamp for Climate Action

The United States Department of State announces the 2022 Young Pacific Leaders TechCamp for Climate Action. The TechCamp will bring young leaders from across the Pacific together with regional and U.S. leaders in the field of climate science and science communication to identify innovative approaches to climate resiliency and mitigation. Applicants must be at least 23 years and have demonstrated professional experience in the field of climate science. Applications will be accepted until 10 August 2022. TechCamp for Climate Action

U.S. Mission to New Zealand — Small Grants Program

The U.S. Mission New Zealand announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting proposals to organize a comprehensive small grants program with training workshops for emerging leaders in the Pacific region. The program should bring together emerging leaders, ages 25-35, and provide them with practical leadership skills related to environment/resource management and economic/social development. The location of the in-person training workshops should be in New Zealand. The estimated total program funding is US$250 thousand. Yale Jackson School of Global Affairs — Climate Leaders Fellowship

The Yale Emerging Climate Leaders Fellowship offers 16 young climate and clean energy practitioners from across the Global South the opportunity to broaden their technical skills and deepen their professional networks through an eight-month training program. Applicants should be between five and ten years into their professional careers and come from developing countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America or the Caribbean. PEMSEA — Youth and the Oceans Video Competition

The Youth and the Oceans video competition aims to showcase the understanding the youth have of their oceans. The videos can have any subject associated with the theme Coastal communities, life with the ocean. It should be a 3 to 5-minute video, created entirely from material filmed/created by youth. The competition is open to high school students, university students, and amateurs up to 30 years old. Entry must be an original video filmed in one of the following East Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, DPR Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, RO Korea, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Thailand, or Vietnam. Islamic Development Bank — Empowering Youth for a Greener Future

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) invites youth-led non-profit organizations to propose new and innovative green ideas and solutions that will support training processes for young people living in post-crisis situations. The “Youth Green Skills Accelerator Challenge” seeks to equip youths (15-35 years old) living in Islamic States with the competencies required for supporting a just transition in their communities. Up to 10 finalists will receive mentoring and training for a period of one week to improve their projects. The top three ideas will be awarded US$50 thousand, US$30 thousand, and US$20 thousand respectively, to implement the proposed solution. Ideas must be submitted no later than 28 July 2023. WYSE International seeks applications for the “Global Change Makers: Leadership Coaching for the Sustainable Development Goals” opportunity. Successful applicants will participate in a free year-long coaching program with leadership professionals. New York Academy of Sciences — Mentoring Program for Girls in STEM

The New York Academy of Sciences’ virtual mentoring program ‘1000 Girls, 1000 Futures’ and ‘The Junior Academy’ accept applications from female students ages 13-17 from around the world. The program connects STEM-focused high school girls to female science mentors and offers an online community with STEM resources. The program also accepts applications of female scientists interested in mentoring young girls. Students and mentors gain access to a STEM network and receive a free 1-year membership to the New York Academy of Sciences. Applications are due by 30 June 2022. About the program
