The grant amount will range between US$200-500 thousand for a maximum duration of two years. Project proposals have to be developed in collaboration with national governments or local organizations in developing countries, and reflect the priorities of the COVID-19 response package of national governments. European Commission — Civil Society Development through Strategic Communication in Armenia
The European Commission (EC) seeks to enhance the capacity and resilience of civil society organisations in Armenia to be effective actors that contribute to deepening democracy, citizens’ awareness and empowerment. The EC accepts proposals that focus on enhancing awareness of environmentally friendly and climate-change related topics and practices, among other strategic focus topics. The Rapid Response Grants aim at increasing the resilience of protected areas and local communities’ livelihoods facing the risks and difficulties of the global COVID-19 pandemic in African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must be no more than € 50 thousand. Funding is intended for enhanced management and governance of protected or conserved areas, recovery of protected and conserved areas, and maintaining the livelihoods of local communities whilst effectively contributing to protected areas management. Partnership for Economic Policy — Climate Change in Sub-Saharan Africa
Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) accepts project proposals on “Climate change in Sub-Saharan Africa: The impacts and responses for women and girls.” The initiative seeks research proposals that address key knowledge gaps in order to more efficiently mitigate the effects of climate change on gender equality. PEP will fund up to four projects with a maximum of US$58 thousand. Each project team must be composed of both researchers and government officials. U.S. Embassy Equatorial Guinea — Self-Help Program
The special self-help program of the U.S. Embassy Malabo supports small, sustainable community-based initiatives that have an immediate and strong impact on the local community. Embassy Malabo expects to support different types of projects: from development projects such as agricultural cooperatives to women’s empowerment and the environment. Grants are typically between US$5 thousand and US$10 thousand per project. U.S. Embassy Turkmenistan — Exchange Program for Biotechnology Experts
The U.S. Embassy announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to organize an exchange visit for 5 biotechnology experts from Turkmenistan to the United States for two to three weeks. The Turkmen experts will study the experience of US scientific and educational institutions in developing and applying biotechnologies and then adapt the new biotechnologies to Turkmenistan’s conditions.
