North Atlantic Treaty Organization — Science for Peace and Security

NATO’s support for research in peace and security includes aspects of environment and energy in relation to climate change, water scarcity, increasing energy needs, disaster forecasts, and prevention of natural catastrophes (among others). The SPS Program supports multi-year research projects, research workshops, and training courses. Applications are invited from researchers in NATO’s member countries and its partner countries – including several in East Europe, Eurasia, Central Asia, and the Mediterranean region. Prince Claus Fund — Cultural and Artistic responses to Environmental Change

The Prince Claus Fund and the Goethe-Institut support artistic and cultural interventions tackling pressing environmental and climate issues around the world. The Fund invites applications to its mentorship program which will focus on addressing the climate emergency. The program consists of two Labs, bi-monthly online masterclass and peer-group sessions. Each artist receives an award of €10 thousand to work on the concept for a body of work that they outline in their application. Please note that support is only given to individual persons or organizations living, registered and working in DAC-listed countries. Swedish Institute — Scholarships for South Africa

The Swedish Institute (SI) provides citizens of South Africa with fully-funded international scholarships for master’s studies in Sweden. The scholarship aims to develop future global leaders that will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contribute to a positive and sustainable development in South Africa. The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs. SI fully covers tuition fees  and makes regular payments of SEK10 thousand to cover living expenses throughout the scholarship. The application portal will close on 28 February 2023. Expo Live — Innovation Impact Grant Programme

Expo Live supports novel solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in funding to support the growth of social enterprises, startups and grassroots projects from around the world that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges. The Grant Program is open to social entrepreneurs, SMEs, non-profit organizations, and government entities. Interested applicants should submit a pre-proposal by 01 March 2023. UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network — Youth Solutions Program

The Youth Solutions Program provides young innovators with access to experts, training, and exposure to opportunities. You have an innovative solution that addresses one or more of the SDGs. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network seeks early-stage startups that have a prototype and are actively testing with users or beneficiaries. Young entrepreneurs will benefit from a 6 week program that helps them to become investment ready. The application deadline is 10 February 2023. More

Udaan Youth Club Tyodhi — YouthLeadG20 Fellowship Program

The YouthLeadG20 Fellowship Program is a virtual forum for young changemakers to share their opinion around the possibilities of India’s G20 Presidency and youth-related focus areas, including Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, among others. Selected fellows will be promoted to YouthLeadG20 ambassador in their countries, certification and direct consideration for similar opportunities. GSMA — Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action

GSMA Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action seeks to help accelerate the testing, adoption and scalability of digital innovations that leverage mobile digital technology to help anticipate potential humanitarian impacts and enable effective early response. Successful projects will receive an equity-free grant of between £100 thousand and £250 thousand to scale their innovation over a 15 to 18 month period. Start-ups, small and medium enterprises, social enterprises, and non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Applications close on 19 January 2023. GSMA Innovation Fund

Awesome Foundation — Micro-Grants to Projects Worldwide

Each month, the Awesome Foundation makes a micro-grant of US$1,000 to an organization or project worldwide. Projects include initiatives in a wide range of areas including arts, technology, community development, and more. Anyone is eligible for a grant, including individuals, groups, and organizations. Flemish Inter-University Council — Short-Term Projects

The Flemish Inter-University Council (VLIR-UOS) invites applications for Short Initiative projects that aim to build and deepen academic/scientific collaborations among diverse teams of academics and researchers. Short Initiatives focus on a sustainable development challenge. The objective is to strengthen research and educational capacities of higher education and science institutions in partner countries in Latin America, Africa and Southeastern Asia. Dalai Lama Fellows — Mentorship for Emerging Leaders

The Dalai Lama Fellowship offers emerging leaders from all around the world mentorship and coaching to design and implement their own original field project addressing a global challenge. Project areas include environmental sustainability, among others. The fellowship does not offer funding for projects, instead it offers coaching and a global community.
