Schneider Electric — Go Green Student Competition: Middle East & Africa

Schneider Electric seeks applications for the Go Green global student competition in the Middle East & Africa. Students are invited to submit solutions to real-life case challenges within energy management or ideas for sustainable energy access. Top teams will be invited to attend the Virtual Global Finals to pitch their ideas. In addition, one all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Business Award. The top participants will be invited on a fully sponsored trip to pitch their ideas and receive mentorship from Schneider Electric experts. Mastercard Foundation — Scholarships for Africans at University of Cape Town

The Mastercard Foundation funds economically disadvantaged students from Sub-Saharan Africa for study at University of Cape Town (UCT). The fields of study at UCT include different areas of sciences; and many others. The scholarship includes comprehensive financial assistance with visa applications, travel, tuition, living expenses, medical aid and accommodation. These scholarships cover the full period of study and are renewable annually. The scholarship application has to be submitted no later than 31 March 2023. About the scholarship

YALI Regional Leadership Center — West Africa Emerging Leaders Program

The YALI West Africa Emerging Leaders Program provides business and entrepreneurship training to young West African leaders from Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Burkina Faso. The program will teach young leaders (between 18 to 35 years) about modern leadership through coursework (in-person or online), a mentorship program, internship or community service, and report writing. Applicants have to be proficient in reading, writing, listening and speaking English. Applications close on 19 March 2023. YALI West Africa

SHE Foundation — Global Seed Grant

Korea SHE Foundation promotes and creates safe and sustainable households, workplaces and local communities. The grant will fund community projects that are related to safety, health, and environment, e.g., campaigns, workshops, training programs, content production, etc. Projects can focus on finding solutions to and promote clean air and water, sustainable agriculture, clean energy, climate action, conservation, environmental education and environmental justice. Each project is funded up to US$3 thousand. Only citizens or grassroots organizations from OECD ODA recipient countries can apply. The application deadline is 19 March 2023. More information

Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture — Graduate Research Grants

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) invite applications from RUFORUM Member Universities. Graduate Research Grants aim at building the capability of graduate students and post-graduate scientists in Africa to conduct applied research on agricultural greenhouse gasses. Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture — Doctoral Research Grants

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and the Global Research Alliance on Agricultural Greenhouse Gases (GRA) invite applications from RUFORUM Member Universities. Doctoral Research Grants aim to train PhD students in Africa to conduct advanced applied research on livestock greenhouse gasses. OPEC Fund for International Development — Young Professional Development Program

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. Inter-American Development Bank — Women in STEM Competition

WeXchange seeks to identify the most innovative women entrepreneurs in STEM from Latin America and the Caribbean and connect them with potential financing opportunities. The competition supports female entrepreneurs in tech (e.g., agritech, biotech, sustainable energy etc.). 15 women-led startups will pitch their business to investors and participate in a micro-acceleration program with workshops, keynotes and one-on-one mentoring sessions. Asian Forest Cooperation Organization — Landmark Scholarship Program

The Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) calls for applications for the “2023-2024 Landmark Scholarship Program”. AFoCO will select one candidate for doctoral degree course and three candidates for a master’s degree course. Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN Member Countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam.
