The EU-Vietnam Women-led Green Partnership Program seeks to support women to influence decision-making processes on climate change and environmental conservation policies and actions in Vietnam. Proposals should mainly target improving access to decent jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities in the green economy and the circular economy for women and girls. Proposed actions will be financed with up to €5 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Vietnam. Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa — Women Agripreneur Awards
Applications are open for the VALUE4HER Women Agripreneur of the Year Awards (WAYA). The award recognizes African women agripreneurs who have demonstrated remarkable innovation in their business by having an impact in food security, climate resilience, women and youth employment. WAYA recognizes women in three distinct categories, with each receiving a US$20 thousand cash prize. Mama Cash — Women’s Land and Resource Rights
Mama Cash makes grants in support of grassroots women’s rights groups that focus on environmental justice, for example, groups that address the exclusion of indigenous women from decision-making over their land and groups that fight for their right to water, food, and a clean, safe, and healthy environment. Grants can be used for advocacy, capacity building, public education, or forming alliances across movements. The average grant size is between €20-30 thousand per year. Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund — Blue Economy in Kenya
Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund (AECF) seeks to contribute to economic empowerment of women enterprises in the Blue Economy in Kenya. The funding window is available for commercial private sector enterprises that economically empower women and young women in the Blue Economy. Total grant funds requested from AECF must be between US$50 thousand and US$400 thousand. The application window will close on 20 January 2023. Link
European Commission — Sustainable Food Production
The European Commission (EC) seeks to promote sustainable food production of socially and environmentally inclusive agriculture value chains targeting local markets in Rwanda. The priority of this call for proposals is to promote actions aiming at enhancing food production and availability by Rwandan local producers and cooperatives, including women farmers and women cooperatives. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €500 thousand and €700 thousand. The lead applicant must be a local authority and be established in Rwanda. Women’s World Summit Foundation — Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life 2023
The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) invites nominations for its annual Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life. The prize honors women’s groups for exceptional creativity, courage, and commitment to improve the quality of life in rural communities. Each year, between 5-10 winners receive a cash prize of US$1,000. Nominations include biographical data about the nominee; at least two endorsement letters; and labeled photos. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Remittance Innovation Champions
The Remittance Innovation Champions 2022 South Africa finances private sector initiatives that develop innovative and cost-effective international remittance services for marginalized populations, particularly women and the rural poor. The She Shapes Biodiversity photo contest aims to celebrate women’s contributions to the environment. Participants can submit a maximum of 3 entries under the “she shapes biodiversity”, showing women’s role in protecting or restoring biodiversity. The top 5 photographers will receive €200 each. U.S. African Development Foundation — Africa Entrepreneurship Challenge
The U.S. African Development Foundation (USADF) requests proposals for the USADF Accelerate Africa Entrepreneurship Challenge. Selected African youth and women-led enterprises will receive funding in the form of grant capital of up to US$250 thousand. Projects must be innovative scalable enterprises that address local needs and have an impact on communities and livelihoods. Spark — Seed Grants for Grassroots Women’s Organizations
Spark provides seed grants (US$3 – $5 thousand) to grassroots women’s organizations working internationally and in the US. In addition to grant funding, Spark offers individual pro bono professional services. Organizations engaged in addressing the root causes of challenges that women face internationally, including economic livelihood among others, are eligible to apply. Sparks looks for organizations that provide a service that is not currently available to women in that geographical area.
