The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering. The Study/Research Awards are a component of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The program is designed for applicants interested in designing their own projects in various areas of study (possibly within the thematic areas of the Terra Viva Grant Directory). Eligibility is limited to U.S. citizens. Program requirements vary by country, so the applicants should familiarize themselves with the program summary for the host country. The Tata Trusts supports philanthropic initiatives in the fields of water, energy, rural development, and others. The Tata Trusts Travel Grant scheme provides partial travel assistance to professionals and other employed people to enhance their professional or work-related skills through relevant training programmes and workshops. The UK-China Joint Research and Innovation Partnership Fund is a sponsorship opportunity for UK and Chinese PhD students and their supervisors to spend three to twelve months (for PhD students) and up to three months (for supervisors) at higher education institutions in China or the UK. The focus is on research areas that include food and water security, environmental technologies, and energy — among others. Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation — Swiss-African Research Cooperation
The LH Basel calls for applications for visiting fellowships from advanced PHD students and early postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa or Switzerland. Proposals from priority countries Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya and Uganda are particularly encouraged. Proposals addressing any of the SDGs in the context of Swiss–sub-Saharan African cooperation, especially in the field of climate change, are welcome. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellows
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders ages 18-35 in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowships offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Applications are invited from current undergraduate or graduate students — as well as recent graduates — in Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Antipode Foundation promotes scientific research, education and makes scholarships in the field of radical geography. The International Workshop Awards are intended to support geographers holding events (including conferences, workshops, seminars, summer schools and action research meetings) that further analyses of geographical issues and engender the development of a new and better society. The AEN secretariat and 3ie offer bursaries to Africans for attending the EVIDENCE 2018 Conference in South Africa. The 2018 conference programme will focus on four areas of priority in Africa, including one on climate resilience. Applicants are required to submit an indication of how they intent to map out the evidence ecosystems in their respective countries, sectors, or areas of work. Applicants can either apply for a full bursary which covers the cost of conference registration, air travel, and accommodation, or a partial bursary which is a waiver of the conference registration fee only.
