The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Belize, to support the production of in-depth stories on the protection, conservation and management of reef health. Stories should raise awareness about the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth in Belize, and initiatives to improve livelihoods and jobs while preserving the health of the ocean ecosystem. EIT Food Call — Technology Solutions in the Agri-Food Sector
EIT Food invests in projects, organizations and individuals with innovative solutions for a healthy and more sustainable food system. EIT Food co-funds the development of commercial projects in the agrifood sector. The selected organization will receive funding of up to €600 thousand per activity for 12 months or up to €1,2 million per activity over a maximum of 24 months. The Women’s World Summit Foundation (WWSF) invites nominations for its annual Prize for Women’s Creativity in Rural Life. The prize honors women’s groups for exceptional creativity, courage, and commitment to improve the quality of life in rural communities. Each year, between 5-10 winners receive a cash prize of US$1,000. Nominations include biographical data about the nominee; at least two endorsement letters; and labeled photos. United Nations Development Programme — Small Grants for Sustainable Livelihoods Projects in Zimbabwe
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites proposals for projects towards supporting awareness and education on conservation; sustainable livelihoods activities; and alternative sources of income and energy in Zimbabwe. Proposed project budgets should not exceed US$150 thousand. Total expected duration of each project is up to 18 months. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications from qualified entities to reduce threats to biodiversity and improve conservation; develop economic opportunities for the poor; and improve environmental governance in Madagascar. USAID intends to award up to 3 awards of approximately US$25 million for terrestrial activities and US$15 million for marine activities. Eligibility is not restricted. King Baudouin Foundation — Enterprises for SDGs
The Business Partnership Facility (BPF) awards subsidies to support and develop private sector involvement in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in developing countries. Projects submitted under this call must contribute to achieving at least one clearly identified SDG. The BPF provides non-refundable grants between €50 thousand and €200 thousand that represent a maximum 50% of the total investment. Eligible countries include several from Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa (full list of eligible countries is provided in the call). Partnerships must comprise actors from the private sector, civil society, academia and/or the public sector, with at least one organization from the for-profit private sector. Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) offers an academic summer program for secondary school students from across Africa. The program offers online and in-person programs in four interdisciplinary sessions on Innovations in Science & Technology and Solving Global Challenges. Admitted participants will have access to pre-recorded videos before the start of the program and attend live sessions. There is no tuition cost to participate in the program. The Save Our Seas Foundation (SOS) Ocean Storytelling Writing Grant supports conservation storytellers. SOS is looking for writers who can tell conservation stories about the oceans, from the animals themselves, to fisheries, to the communities whose lives are intertwined with marine life.
