The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) invites women’s rights and feminist organizations to apply for sub-grants. APWLD will support up to 8 organizations to do monitoring of the SDGs implementation in their country. The aim is to develop the capacity of feminist movements and women’s rights organizations to conduct evidence-based advocacy for the monitoring and review of the Sustainable Development Goals. APWLD will provide each partner organization with a sub-grant of between US$15 thousand to US$18 thousand. Government of Norway — Small Grants Program on Plastic Waste
The Small Grant Program on Plastic Waste seeks to improve the management of plastic waste and contribute towards preventing and significantly reducing marine pollution. The Program seeks to identify and implement low-cost high impact pilot projects on the ground. Selected projects will seek to enhance capacities in partner countries to implement and enforce the Basel Convention and manage plastic waste in an environmentally sound manner. Budgets range from US$65 thousand to US$180 thousand. The projects will benefit countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Central and Eastern Europe. International Development Research Centre — Climate Adaptation and Resilience
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) announces a call for concept notes under the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) initiative. CLARE supports research to enable socially inclusive and sustainable action to build resilience to climate change and natural hazards across Africa and Asia-Pacific. There are two sizes of funding available. Smaller projects for grants up to C$1.5 million, and larger projects for grants between C$6-8 million. The U.S. Department of State announces a funding opportunity for the Indigenous People’s Finance Access Facility (IPFAF). The purpose of this project is to support Indigenous Peoples’ increased access to results-based finance for the conservation, restoration, and improved management of forests. The project will support Indigenous Peoples’ in the Amazon basin, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia with up to US$1,9 million. The U.S. Department of State announces a funding opportunity for “Enabling Forest Investment Development Facility (ForInvest).” The overall goal is to facilitate investment in natural climate solutions in developing countries, especially in high-deforestation areas, by developing investment pipelines and connecting those opportunities with potential investors. The project should encompass all three of the key geographies to Conserve Global Forests: the Amazon basin, Congo Basin, and Southeast Asia. A total of US$5.1 million will be made available. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes large grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems. This call is for large grants of up to US$75 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers 12 reporting grants to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to critical environmental issues in the Pacific region. ENJ expects at least six stories with focus on ocean issues, such as efforts and solutions to protect the ocean, ways to increase ocean’s resilience to climate change and regulate sustainable use of its resources. Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation — Forest Rehabilitation and Management
The Asia-Pacific Network for Sustainable Forest Management and Rehabilitation (APFNet) provides grants for field demonstration projects which showcase best practices in forest rehabilitation and management in APEC member countries. APFNet-funded projects are aimed at rehabilitating degraded forests and increasing forest cover, promoting sustainable forest management to enhance the ecological function and health of forests, and enhancing the contribution of forests to socio-economic development and local livelihoods. APFNet supports small projects that apply for less than US$10 thousand as well as regular projects with budgets of up to US$500 thousand. The proposed project cannot exceed 36 months in duration.
