Amazon — Research Awards

Amazon welcomes proposals related to climate risk/resilience, life cycle assessment and circular strategies. The overall goal is to inform business planning and resilience in order to make Amazon the most environmentally and socially responsible place to buy or sell goods and services. Selected partners may receive up to US$100 thousand in unrestricted funds. The application deadline is 13 November 2023. Link

Melton Foundation — Global Citizenship Learning Program

The Global Citizenship Learning Program is a 1.5 year learning program with virtual and in-person activities, and interdisciplinary community projects furthering the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program is open to university students aged 18- 25 that are currently enrolled at one of our partner universities (China, India, Chile, Ghana, Germany, United States). UK Government — Climate Finance Accelerator

The Climate Finance Accelerator (CFA) is a global technical assistance program to support climate smart projects to access finance. The aim is to facilitate a collaborative approach to unlocking finance for climate projects at scale and creating a pipeline of ‘investment ready’ low carbon projects. The CFA operates in Nigeria, Colombia, South Africa, Egypt, Uganda, Türkiye, Mexico, Peru, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The CFA offers a range of capacity building support to assist climate mitigation projects in accessing finance. Tencent and Viva la Vida — THINC Fellowship

THINC is a 12-month fellowship program for creative inventors who leverage the power of technology to create a greener and more sustainable world. The program consists of virtual meetings, offline events, and marketing campaigns to build a professional network of young leaders from different disciplines worldwide. Fellows can be in any field from art to engineering. The application deadline is 19 November 2023. THINC Fellowship

Climate Tracker — Caribbean Journalism Award

The Caribbean Journalism Award aims to recognize journalism focused on climate change and environmental issues within the Caribbean region. The competition is open to journalists, writers, photographers, videographers, and multimedia creators from the Caribbean region. Each Awardee will receive US$400. Start Up Energy Transition — Award for Global Energy Transition

The SET Award is an international competition for start-ups and young companies worldwide who are working on ideas affecting global energy transition and climate change. The top 100-ranked applicants will receive a free ticket to the SET Tech Festival 2024. The winners in each of the five award categories can win up to €10 thousand in prize money. African Development Bank — African Youth Adaptation Solutions Challenge

The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) seek to accelerate climate adaptation action under the African Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP). The program will support the commercialization of climate change adaptation solutions of youth entrepreneurs in Africa. The YouthADAPT Challenge is open to solutions (products, services, tools, or ideas) targeted at climate change adaptation and increasing resilience. AAAP awards a business grant of up to US$100 thousand to further develop the solution. Enterprises must be youth-led (applicants aged between 18 and 35 years) and legally registered and operating in Africa. The application deadline is 05 November 2023. Link to the YouthADAPT Challenge

International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Mountain Prize 2023

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) seeks nominations for the 2023 Mountain Prize. The Prize is awarded to an individual or organization which has demonstrated outstanding efforts enabling sustainable and resilient mountain development in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. The prize is currently set at US$ 2,500. Thematic areas include access to water for drinking or/and sanitation, food/nutrition security, climate change adaptation or/and disaster risk reduction, access to clean energy, ecosystems/biodiversity management, and two others. Box Impact Fund — Digital Transformation to Save our Planet

The Box Impact Fund will award a total of US$150 thousand to six different non-profit organizations pursuing digital transformation projects. Each selected organization will receive a US$25 thousand grant to put their idea into action. The project category “Protecting the Planet” covers areas such as environmental protection, energy conservation, renewable energy, nature conservation, and biodiversity. Imagine H2O — Accelerator Program 2024

Imagine H2O seeks innovative water solutions from anywhere in the world. Any company offering solutions for water access, safety, resilience or efficiency is welcome to apply. Selected candidates will have access to a network of industry executives, experts and entrepreneurs and showcase their ideas during a week-long bootcamp at the Water Innovation Week.
