SDGs&Her is an online competition for women entrepreneurs from all around the world to showcase how they are supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through their business operations. Succow Foundation — CADI Fellowship 2018
The Michael Succow Foundation supports early-career scientists from Central Asia though the Central Asian Desert Initiative (CADI) Fellowship Programme. The project must have a clear relevance for the country of origin (China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan) and should focus on the increase of sustainability or improvement of livelihoods in the region. The Google Impact Challenge Kenya supports non-profit organizations and social enterprises with game-changing ideas to create economic opportunity in their communities. Finalists get access to Google.org funding, mentorship and resources. Four winners will receive a US$250 thousand grant each and training from Google. Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs — Voice Opportunity Grants
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides opportunity grants to effectively empower and give voice to marginalized and discriminated people in low- and lower-middle income countries of Africa and Asia. The thematic areas include one for improved governance and access to productive resources (e.g., land and water) and employment. The priority countries are Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, Laos, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Philippines, Tanzania, and Uganda. Voice hopes to stimulate learning about the most successful methods of building community empowerment. Applications are invited from legally registered nonprofit civil society organizations and community groups. The applicant (or a consortium member) must be based in Africa or Asia, and operate in one or more of the focus countries. Grants range from €5 thousand to €200 thousand for up to 6-12 months. The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and the Thomson Reuters Foundation seek participants for a four-day workshop on reporting land rights in Johannesburg, South Africa (30 July – 2 August 2018). Journalists with outstanding story ideas on property rights will receive training, editorial support and limited funding to help them realize their stories. The LH Basel calls for applications for visiting fellowships from advanced PHD students and early postdoctoral researchers from sub-Saharan Africa or Switzerland. Proposals from priority countries Cameroon, Ghana, Kenya and Uganda are particularly encouraged. Proposals addressing any of the SDGs in the context of Swiss–sub-Saharan African cooperation, especially in the field of climate change, are welcome.
