The U.S. Government seeks to fund projects that build criminal judicial capacity in Southeast Asia. Funds will support work that increases the ability of Southeast Asia to counter wildlife trafficking. The solicitation scope may also include money-laundering, corruption, illegal logging, and other crime areas that aid wildlife trafficking. The U.S. Government anticipates 3-5 awards of US$750 thousand to US$2 million. Eligibility for funding extends to nonprofit NGOs and institutions of higher education in the USA and internationally. ONE International — ONE Africa Award
The ONE Africa Award honors the exceptional work of individuals and organizations based in Africa to help Africa achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The amount of the award is US$100 thousand, which may be split into more than one prize. Eligibility for the award extends to civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other groups based in Africa that can demonstrate commitment and success in advocacy to promote the attainment of one or more of the SDGs. University of British Columbia — Forest Research Grant
The Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia (UBC) offers the Future Forests Fellowship, a research grant to a forestry student to enroll in their PhD program. UBC offers C$70 thousand annually for up to four years. The fellowship is intended to cover all expenses incurred in the preparation and conduct of research. The Swedish Institute Management Program (SIMP) Northern and Eastern Europe seeks ambitious and innovative leaders who want to learn more about sustainable business practices. The international leadership program offers proven tools and knowledge from experts with the goal to help participants to develop and implement an action-oriented sustainability strategy. The Swedish Institute covers the cost of training and content for all participants. Participants of the SIMP program will be selected from both businesses and organizations. The Lawrence Foundation makes grants to U.S. nonprofit organizations for projects in environment, human services, and other themes. The National Geographic Society, in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, welcomes nominations for the 2022 Buffett Awards for Leadership in Conservation. There is one annual award for Africa, and another for Latin America. UNESCO Man and the Biosphere Program — Young Scientist Awards 2022
UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere (MAB) program makes grants for conservation research through its Young Scientists Awards. The Award targets young researchers (not older than 35 years) carrying out interdisciplinary research on ecosystems, natural resources and biodiversity. World Water Council — World Water Prize 2022
The World Water Council invites applications for the 2022 King Hassan II Great World Water Prize. The prize is intended for projects that focus on the management and development of water resources. For this edition, the theme chosen is “Water security in territories for sustainable development and food security.” The Prize will be awarded for the sixth time during the 9th World Water Forum in Dakar, Senegal. Nominations can be for a person, a group of persons, or an organization. The Prize can be awarded for either an enduring work, or the performance of an outstanding one-off achievement. BRICS STI Framework Programme — Call for Research and Development Projects
The BRICS STI Framework Programme calls for proposals to promote research cooperation among partner institutions in Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa. Project proposals should consist of partners in at least three BRICS countries for research on preventing and monitoring natural disasters; water resources and pollution management; new and renewable energy; and other themes.
