Center for International Forestry Research and World Agroforestry — Photo Competition

The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) and World Agroforestry (ICRAF) seeks photographs that highlight the role of forests and trees in protecting the planet’s biodiversity. Entries can show trees in forests, on farms, in landscapes or any subject that depicts why trees matter to all forms of life on Earth. Participants can win up to US$500 and have their work displayed on CIFOR-ICRAF’s digital platforms. The competition is open to professional and amateur photographers from around the world. BirdsCaribbean — Research and Conservation of Caribbean Birds

BirdsCaribbean invites applications for its grants programs. The James A. Kushlan Research and Conservation Fund provides support on an annual basis for biological, ecological and conservation research on waterbirds in the Caribbean region. The Betty Petersen Conservation Fund seeks to advance the conservation status of birds and habitats in the Caribbean region through projects that engage and empower communities and stakeholders to protect and benefit sustainably from their birds. David S. Lee Fund for the Conservation of Caribbean Birds supports applied and innovative projects with direct conservation effects on  Caribbean birds and/or their habitats. Awards range from US$2,500 to US$5,000. Grants will be awarded to anyone (individuals or organizations). Applicants from the Caribbean will be given consideration over other nationalities. Opportunity Desk — Impact Challenge

The OD Impact Challenge seeks to recognize and support the efforts of young people working to bring positive change to their communities. The top three winners will share a cash prize of US$1,000, The opportunity to compete for a seed grant of up US$2,500 and personalized mentoring. International Water Association — UN 2023 Water Conference

The International Water Association (IWA) offers young water professionals from around the globe the possibility to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference (USA, March 2023). IWA will provide workshops, round tables, and other activities related to the conference. IWA will provide fellowships to cover travel, subsistence, accommodation, transportation, travel insurance, and visa application fees. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Grants for Research towards Agricultural Innovative Solutions

SEARCA GRAINS offers short-term starter funds to collaborative actions aimed at transformative innovations for more sustainable agriculture and rural development across Southeast Asia. GRAINS will support the translational research and community knowledge transfer of technologies and products that will lead to diffusion or adoption of innovative solutions in agriculture. Funding ranges from US$ 5 thousand to US$15 thousand. The grant is open to academic/research, private, government or non-government institutions, farmer groups and cooperatives. EIT Climate-KIC — Pan-African Climate Accelerator

Africa ClimAccelerator supports promising climate impact ideas and early-stage businesses with climate tech solutions through business support and capacity building. The program seeks applications from early- to mid-stage African startups with solutions that are addressing the impacts of climate change and building the resilience of communities. The program provides business coaching, professional guidance on finance, support defining the climate impact potential of their solution, and preparation for future investment opportunities. World Food Programme — Innovation Challenge

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) accepts applications for the WFP Innovation Challenge. WFP seeks low- and high-tech solutions, including digital tools addressing the global food crisis. Projects will be considered for a six-month acceleration program with access of up to US$100 thousand in equity-free funding. Eligibility extends to start-ups (profit or not-for-profit) and WFP employees who are collaborating with NGOs, government or private sectors. Applications can be submitted until 03 November 2022. UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council — Partnerships Worldwide

The BBSRC Partnering Awards aim to set up partnership links between UK and overseas laboratories, promote the exchange of scientists, particularly early career scientists, and to promote access to facilities. Funding of up to £30 thousand is available for a period of up to four years for partnerships with bioscience laboratories in countries not currently eligible through existing partnering award schemes. International partnerships focusing on the net zero carbon emissions target, through a sustainable, resilient and bio-diverse agri-food system are especially welcome. Carrefour Foundation — Food Transition

Carrefour Foundation invites applications to “Together for the Food Transition”. The program supports local nonprofit organizations to develop sustainable agriculture, zero-food waste or nutritional education projects. Organizations located in Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania and Taiwan can apply. One organization in each country will be rewarded €30 thousand. Earth Journalism Network — Biodiversity Story Grants

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) makes reporting grants to support the production of in-depth stories that highlight previously untold threats to global biodiversity or explore new conservation-based solutions. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with experience in investigative reporting and covering environmental issues.
