International Water Association — UN 2023 Water Conference

The International Water Association (IWA) offers young water professionals from around the globe the possibility to participate in the UN 2023 Water Conference (USA, March 2023). IWA will provide workshops, round tables, and other activities related to the conference. IWA will provide fellowships to cover travel, subsistence, accommodation, transportation, travel insurance, and visa application fees. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Grants for Research towards Agricultural Innovative Solutions

SEARCA GRAINS offers short-term starter funds to collaborative actions aimed at transformative innovations for more sustainable agriculture and rural development across Southeast Asia. GRAINS will support the translational research and community knowledge transfer of technologies and products that will lead to diffusion or adoption of innovative solutions in agriculture. Funding ranges from US$ 5 thousand to US$15 thousand. The grant is open to academic/research, private, government or non-government institutions, farmer groups and cooperatives. EIT Climate-KIC — Pan-African Climate Accelerator

Africa ClimAccelerator supports promising climate impact ideas and early-stage businesses with climate tech solutions through business support and capacity building. The program seeks applications from early- to mid-stage African startups with solutions that are addressing the impacts of climate change and building the resilience of communities. The program provides business coaching, professional guidance on finance, support defining the climate impact potential of their solution, and preparation for future investment opportunities. UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council — Partnerships Worldwide

The BBSRC Partnering Awards aim to set up partnership links between UK and overseas laboratories, promote the exchange of scientists, particularly early career scientists, and to promote access to facilities. Funding of up to £30 thousand is available for a period of up to four years for partnerships with bioscience laboratories in countries not currently eligible through existing partnering award schemes. International partnerships focusing on the net zero carbon emissions target, through a sustainable, resilient and bio-diverse agri-food system are especially welcome. Carrefour Foundation — Food Transition

Carrefour Foundation invites applications to “Together for the Food Transition”. The program supports local nonprofit organizations to develop sustainable agriculture, zero-food waste or nutritional education projects. Organizations located in Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, Romania and Taiwan can apply. One organization in each country will be rewarded €30 thousand. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists from India to apply for a media workshop on covering pathways to Net Zero, to be held in Kolkata (February 2023). The workshop will help journalists improve their understanding of the energy transition, and learn how to report more effectively on climate change. The workshop is open to journalists from print, television, online and/or radio. EJN will bear the travel, accommodation, and meal costs of selected participants. The AgriPitch Competition is a two-week-long business development program on strategic partnerships for agriculture projects. Participating agripreneurs will receive follow-up mentorship and coaching for a period of six months. The program offers total grant funding of US$140 thousand. Eligible applicants have to be less than 35 years of age and must be involved in an agriculture value chain focused business. The application deadline is 04 November 2022. Asian Development Bank — Climate Change Data Visualization Challenge

ADB South Asia Department (SARD) aims to increase the visibility of the importance of climate research and build climate action capacity in ADB developing member countries. The Data Visualization Challenge seeks data scientists and practitioners to create novel and insightful visualizations on climate change and resilience. The winner will have the potential to be contracted by ADB to develop and deliver workshops on data literacy and visualization for a total contractual value up to US$10 thousand. Safer End of Engineered Life — Reducing the Burning of Waste

The Safer End of Engineered Life funds projects that tackle the open burning of waste that lead to a risk to human health and safety. Activities must lead to demonstrable impacts for the beneficiaries, which reduces the risks posed to vulnerable groups as a result of the open burning of municipal solid waste. There are two types of grants available: impact grants (up to £60 thousand) and baseline study and awareness-raising grants (up to £20 thousand). Eligible organizations include charities, research institutions, universities, government entities, social enterprises, and businesses. The application deadline is 08 November 2022. Know more
