The International Marine Turtle Management and Conservation Program supports conservation, protection, or management actions supporting recovery of endangered sea turtle species occurring within the Pacific Islands Region. The program funds internationally-based projects to protect conserve western Pacific leatherback sea turtles occurring in Indonesia and Solomon Islands, and sea turtle management and conservation projects within Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Philippines, or Indonesia) and Japan with focus on fishery bycatch, nesting beach monitoring, poaching reduction, and/or the illegal sea turtle wildlife trade. Proposals between US$10 thousand and US$100 thousand per project year will be funded. Projects may apply for up to three years in length. Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education, nonprofits, commercial organizations, foreign institutions, foreign organizations, and governments. Amphibian Survival Alliance — Partnerships for Amphibian Conservation
The Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA) makes grants to evidence-based conservation projects that address key threats to amphibians and raise awareness. Start-up grants of up to US$5 thousand are available to establish new in situ amphibian conservation projects. Emergency grants can be requested in emergency situations, for example, in cases where in situ action is required, such as the emergency rescue of wild populations facing imminent threat of extinction. Earth Journalism Network — Stop Spillover Media Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers grants to media organizations to support capacity-building activities for media and journalists related to understanding and preventing zoonotic viral spillover. EJN is particularly interested in projects that help journalists use data and the latest scientific research in their reporting. Applications are open to traditional news media, broadcast media, development media, new media and independent media outlets from the following countries: Liberia, Sierra Leone, Côte d’Ivoire, Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications from qualified entities to reduce threats to biodiversity and improve conservation; develop economic opportunities for the poor; and improve environmental governance in Madagascar. USAID intends to award up to 3 awards of approximately US$25 million for terrestrial activities and US$15 million for marine activities. Eligibility is not restricted. German Academic Exchange Service — Project-based Personnel Exchange Program with India
The ’Project-based Personnel Exchange Program’ (PPP) is a bilateral research promotion program to strengthen the collaboration between Indian and German research groups, which are working jointly on a particular scientific project. Financial support is available to support exchange visits to the partner institution and short term stays of scientists and doctoral students. The program is open to academics in the disciplines of agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, forestry, medicine, life sciences, animal sciences, and others. University professors, scientists/researchers and post-doctoral researchers from German and Indian universities and those in permanent positions at public funded research institutes are eligible to apply. King Baudouin Foundation — Enterprises for SDGs
The Business Partnership Facility (BPF) awards subsidies to support and develop private sector involvement in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in developing countries. Projects submitted under this call must contribute to achieving at least one clearly identified SDG. The BPF provides non-refundable grants between €50 thousand and €200 thousand that represent a maximum 50% of the total investment. Eligible countries include several from Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa (full list of eligible countries is provided in the call). Partnerships must comprise actors from the private sector, civil society, academia and/or the public sector, with at least one organization from the for-profit private sector. Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) offers an academic summer program for secondary school students from across Africa. The program offers online and in-person programs in four interdisciplinary sessions on Innovations in Science & Technology and Solving Global Challenges. The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) makes reporting grants to further the understanding of the importance of biodiversity in East Africa and region-specific threats to biodiversity conservation. Up to 10 journalists will receive grants of US$1,200 to produce in-depth biodiversity and conservation feature stories in East Africa. Journalists from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda are welcome to apply.
