Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants to Support Environmental Reporting from Asia-Pacific Island Countries

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists from island countries in the Asia-Pacific region to support the production of in-depth stories on climate, health and environmental issues, and solutions to address them. Journalists from low- and middle-income island countries will be prioritized. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience and a history of covering ocean issues. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Water and Development Partnerships

The Water and Development Partnership Program supports transformations to ecologically sustainable water management practices. The Program launches a call for proposals open to applicants from non-European low-and middle-income countries. Ten projects with budgets up to €400 thousand will be selected. The call is open for projects that aim to redress issues related to inequities and ecological degradation in water-related developments. Submission of preliminary ideas closes on 22 May 2023. Canadian International Development Research Center — Climate Emergency

The Canadian International Development Research Center (IDRC) seeks concept notes to support new research that responds to the intersection of two global challenges of the climate emergency and closing civic spaces in the Global South. Funding of up to CA$950 thousand is available. Applications can be submitted in Spanish, English, French or Portuguese. Interested applicants are invited to submit concept notes by 26 May 2023. AFR100 Initiative — Restoring African Landscapes

The AFR100 Initiative seeks to show that restoration can create a prosperous, net-zero-emissions future for Africa. Therefore, the initiative will finance 100 non-profit community organizations and for-profit businesses that are restoring land by planting and growing trees in rural and urban landscapes. Early-stage for-profit businesses or non-profit organizations can apply for US$50 thousand to US$150 thousand. Growth stage organizations can apply for US$250 thousand to US$500 thousand. Climate Tracker — Climate Justice Fellowship

The Caribbean Climate Justice Journalism Fellowship accepts applications. The fellowship offers young Caribbean journalists the opportunity to hone their skills, tell important stories, and make a real impact in their communities. Fellows will receive expert training and mentorship from experienced journalists and climate experts, and a monthly stipend during the six months of the fellowship. Sonoran Joint Venture — Bird Conservation

The Sonoran Joint Venture (SJV) Awards Program provides funds to support the conservation of birds and their habitats in the border region of the southwestern USA and northwestern Mexico. Priority is given to projects that focus on habitat restoration, bird monitoring, and strategic communications to support conservation efforts. Climate and Development Knowledge Network — Climate-resilient Action in African Countries

The Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) provides grants to projects led by African organizations that mobilize Indigenous and local knowledge to support locally-led and inclusive climate-resilient action in Africa. Projects must focus on economically and socially marginalized groups, such as women, young and elderly people, Indigenous Peoples, marginalized ethnic groups, and migrants. Schneider Electric — Go Green Student Competition: Europe

Schneider Electric seeks applications for the Go Green global student competition in Europe (including Eastern Europe, Eurasia and Central Asia). Students are invited to submit solutions to real-life case challenges within energy management or ideas for sustainable energy access. Top teams will be invited to attend the Virtual Global Finals to pitch their ideas. In addition, one all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Business Award. BridgeUSA — Global STEM Scholarship

The Office of Private Sector Exchange (BridgeUSA) of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs announces an open competition for the administration of the FY 2023 BridgeUSA Global STEM Scholarship Fund. The mission of BridgeUSA is to provide opportunities for international candidates looking to travel and gain experience in the United States. BridgeUSA plans to issue one cooperative agreement of approximately US$360 thousand to implement the program. Proposals must include a focus on climate change and should include U.S. partnership collaboration with institutions that focus on various STEM fields. The GLG Social Impact Fellowship provides nonprofits and social enterprises with a two-year pro bono partnership with GLG.
