The Ireland Fellows Program offers selected students the opportunity to undertake a fully funded one-year master’s level program at a higher education institution (HEI) in Ireland. In 2021, fellowships will be offered for postgraduate study in agriculture, environmental science, conservation, rural development, food science, biotechnology, tourism, and many others. The Kader Asmal Fellowships covers tuition, economy travel, accommodation, books, and a monthly personal living allowance. Applicants must be resident nationals of South Africa. British Council — PhD Scholarships for Egyptian Researchers
The Newton Mosharafa PhD Program supports Egyptian researchers to undertake PhD studies at a UK higher education institution. The program covers all fees and living/travel expenses. Rothamsted International is a nonprofit organization to advance sustainable agriculture in developing countries. The Rothamsted International Fellowship Scheme aims to promote the exchange of vital agricultural research skills between Rothamsted Research and scientists from low- to middle- income countries. Climate Tracker — Sustainability Solutions Stories Fellowship
Climate Tracker seeks journalists to report on sustainability challenges such as tourism, agriculture, water, and other aspects. Successful applicants will enjoy a 6-month fellowship covering the challenges and opportunities surrounding sustainability in their country/region. Fellows receive coaching and mentoring plus a US$150 stipend per month for the duration of their fellowship to cover expenses. Applicants have to have at least one year of journalism experience. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — Meryl Williams Fellowship for Women Agricultural Scientists
The Meryl Williams Fellowship is a women’s leadership program to support women in agricultural research for development to enhance their leadership skills and professional development. The first two cohorts of the fellowship include a variety of activities that will take place across a 15-month period in Australia and Singapore. Climate Tracker — Sustainable Food Media Fellowship
Climate Tracker launches the Sustainable Food Media Fellowship to fund journalists from Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia to work on investigative reports about the production of food and access to sustainable diets in their home country. Stories may focus on food security in the context of COVID-19, the impacts of climate change on agriculture, or the environmental footprint of agriculture practices. Participants receive a 4-week online course followed by an 8-week fellowship to develop and publish their stories. Eligibility extends to African journalists between the ages of 18 to 35.
