The Takagi Fund for Citizen Science invites grant applications from groups and individuals in Asia pursuing “Citizen Science”. Research Grants may cover research and travel expenses, printing, as well as workshops or symposia to communicate research findings to the public. Training Grants are to support an individual receiving training at educational institutions, NGOs, research institutes and can be used to cover travel, accommodation, tuition or related costs. EuroMarine — Scientific Working Groups
EuroMarine funds two Long-Term Scientific Working Groups with a maximum funding of €12,500 each. The aim of the working groups is to provide the EuroMarine community with recommendations on how to best contribute to the international and European initiatives for restoring and sustainably exploiting the oceans as well as to advance the research on emerging topics related to marine sciences. Proposals should involve at least three full Member Organizations of EuroMarine, from at least two different countries. Snow Leopard Network — Small Grants
The ‘With Snow Leopards’ Small Grant (SLSG) provides financial support and promotes snow leopard research and conservation across the snow leopard range. In 2022, SLSG will support 1-2 projects addressing Snow leopard research and conservation, public educational programs to promote snow leopard conservation, and research projects that address critical questions related to snow leopard ecology. Selected projects will be awarded between up to US$15 thousand. The proposed project duration should not exceed 12 months. Global Research Council — SDGs Collaborative Funding
The Global Research Council (GRC) aims to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs through collaborative research initiatives. Projects will be funded through international consortia consisting of eligible partner organizations from at least three different countries. Consortia must be based in the following countries: Chile, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, Sweden, Tanzania, The Netherlands and Turkey. Islamic Development Bank — Empowering Youth for a Greener Future
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) invites youth-led non-profit organizations to propose new and innovative green ideas and solutions that will support training processes for young people living in post-crisis situations. The “Youth Green Skills Accelerator Challenge” seeks to equip youths (15-35 years old) living in Islamic States with the competencies required for supporting a just transition in their communities. Up to 10 finalists will receive mentoring and training for a period of one week to improve their projects. The top three ideas will be awarded US$50 thousand, US$30 thousand, and US$20 thousand respectively, to implement the proposed solution. Ideas must be submitted no later than 28 July 2023. Swedish Institute — Academic Collaboration in the Baltic Sea Region
The Swedish Institute offers funding to Swedish universities, for projects together with their partners in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine. The aim is to strengthen the capacity for internationalization within higher education and research. The program offers two types of project funding, Seed Funding of SEK 100-300 thousand for projects with a duration of up to 12 months, and Collaboration Funding of up to SEK 1 million for the duration of 18 months. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on the Mediterranean Sea (Tunisia)
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in Tunisia to support the production of in-depth stories on the scale of unsustainable marine management and biodiversity loss in the Mediterranean Sea. EJN welcomes submissions that highlight the impact on coastal communities, including the loss of sustainable livelihoods, the hardships of small-scale fishers, the decline of valuable ecosystems, and the loss of natural and cultural heritage. United States Agency for International Development — Energy Transition
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement to implement the Just and Secure Energy Transition (J-SET) activity. J-SET supports utilities, regulatory agencies, and energy sector stakeholders in the Europe and Eurasia region in progressing through the clean energy transition. Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Sturgeons
IUCN Save Our Species (SOS) aims to support on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened sturgeon species and their habitats in the Black Sea basin. The goal is to enable and support conservation projects that can apply sustainable conservation measures to protect threatened sturgeon species, their habitats and to improve the livelihoods of the people who depend on them. Grants range from CHF50 thousand to CHF150 thousand. SOS requires matching resources in relation to grant size. Applications are open to non-profit local or national civil society organizations, international organizations and university/research institutions.
