Credit Suisse — Lead 2030 Challenge for SDG 14 (Life Below Water)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 14 seeks solutions that could protect and/or restore existing ocean based resources. The challenge welcomes solutions from entrepreneurs with for-profit enterprises. The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from Credit Suisse. Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area — Water-Energy-Ecosystem-Food Nexus

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) aims to leverage knowledge on the Nexus management of Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems resources in the Mediterranean region. PRIMA seeks concepts and practical solutions that address the interdependency of food, water and energy securities by analyzing trade-offs and synergies between sectors and potential impact on social stability due to resource shortages and climate change. Projects can request up to €3.1 million for a period of 36 months. Companies/enterprises, non-profit organizations, NGOs, public research organizations, and universities from the following non-EU countries are eligible: Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco. Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership — Masters Studies in Sustainable Energy

The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership comprises many of the world’s largest energy companies in partnership with international organizations, development banks, institutes, and foundations. The program sponsors ESED (Education for Sustainable Energy Development) to support outstanding students from developing countries to pursue masters-level studies directly related to sustainable energy. The support is US$10 thousand per year for up to two years. Applications are invited from any developing country on the list of ODA recipients. The next application deadline is 07 April 2023. UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network — Youth Solutions Program

The Youth Solutions Program provides young innovators with access to experts, training, and exposure to opportunities. You have an innovative solution that addresses one or more of the SDGs. The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network seeks early-stage startups that have a prototype and are actively testing with users or beneficiaries. Young entrepreneurs will benefit from a 6 week program that helps them to become investment ready. The application deadline is 10 February 2023. More

Siemenpuu Foundation — Energy Justice

The Siemenpuu Foundation promotes the systemic transition towards sustainability, meaning the dismantling of fossil and otherwise unsustainable modes of production, distribution and consumption of energy. Siemenpuu aims to support work that advocates just and environmentally sustainable energy systems, and promotes community-based renewable energy for marginalized rural communities. Grant size averages €35 thousand to €80 thousand. Local, registered Civil Society Organizations in Mali are eligible to apply. Concept papers have to be submitted by 12 February 2023. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants India

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers support for the production of in-depth reports on India’s progress towards a Net Zero economy through a Just Energy Transition. The Earth Journalism Network aims to support the production of reports that raise awareness and drive conversations among communities and policymakers at local, national and regional levels. Earth Journalism Network — Story Grants South Africa

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to journalists in South Africa to support the production of in-depth stories on South Africa’s Road to Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions. The Earth Journalism Network aims to support the production of stories that raise awareness about South Africa’s net zero target and drive conversation among communities and policy makers at the local, national, and regional level. EJN expects to award five story grants with an average budget of €1,000. Journalists interested in covering the transition to Net Zero are invited to apply. Government of India & European Union — Cooperation on Research and Innovation

The Government of India and the European Union seek applications for collaborative research & innovation projects carried out by consortia of organizations working together on research & innovation in areas of AI, electric energy storage solutions; zero emission vehicles; and biofuels. Any legal entity/organization (public or private research institute/university) established in India or the European Union with expertise in relevant and distinct disciplines is eligible to apply. India Department of Science and Technology — Science Collaboration, India with ASEAN

The ASEAN-India Science and Technology Development Fund supports projects of 2-3 years between research institutions in India and collaborating institutions in the ASEAN countries. Areas of focus include environmental management, climate change adaptation and mitigation, agricultural technologies, alternative energy, biodiversity, and several others. The funds support mobility of researchers from India to partnering ASEAN institutions and vice versa, as well as some supplementary expenditures. Applications must be prepared jointly by the Indian and ASEAN partner scientists, and must be submitted to India’s DST and the ASEAN Secretariat simultaneously. Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation — Environmental Sustainability Grants

The Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation’s grant making in Environmental Sustainability addresses the pressures and conditions that risk global environmental breakdown. Past projects have included topics in sustainable agriculture; energy conservation; environmental degradation; and reduced consumption. The Foundation funds UK organizations for projects to promote peace and sustainable security — and environmental sustainability — including for international projects. Eligibility extends to UK-registered charities and to organizations in other countries that work through UK-registered charities.
