The Embassy of France in New Zealand seeks projects that contribute to economic, social, cultural and scientific cooperation with New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna. Projects must fall under at least one of the following categories: fight against climate change and risk management for natural disasters; economic and industrial projects (feasibility study, training actions, etc.); food security (e.g., fishery management, etc.). Projects must be jointly financed for at least 50% of the total project budget. Projects have to be submitted by a New Zealand partner and must involve at least one local project partner. The “Innovation from Asia” award focuses on novel and innovative activities started in Asia, and led by people from and living in Asia, creating a free and prosperous society by revitalizing the region and improving lives. Activities in fields such as business, research, technological development and social/artistic activities by an individual or a group can be submitted. The prize is 5 million yen. Candidates must be nominated by others. The award is open to innovations from East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region. Nominations close on 04 July 2022. Nomination

The Sankalp Awards celebrate social entrepreneurs who are making a positive impact on society by creating innovative solutions with a global community. The Award recognizes the work of entrepreneurs who have been building an enabling ecosystem which provides the right resources and environment for entrepreneurs to thrive in. Applicants must run a high-impact business that caters to rural, low-income, or disadvantaged communities. Areas of impact include Agriculture, WASH, Clean Energy and Climate Solutions, among others. BioInnovate Africa supports scientists in eastern Africa to link biologically based research ideas, inventions, and technologies to business and the market. BioInnovate invites concept notes to co-develop value-added products (goods and services) from biological resources, such as agro-produce, biological waste conversion, or biologically based healthcare products. Target beneficiaries are scientists working in universities, research institutes, private sector companies as well as smallholder farmers and communities in Burundi, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Funding per project is a grant amount of up to US$1 million for a period of three years. The deadline for receiving concept notes is 19 July 2022. BioInnovate Collaboration Projects

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) invites youth-led non-profit organizations to propose new and innovative green ideas and solutions that will support training processes for young people living in post-crisis situations. The “Youth Green Skills Accelerator Challenge” seeks to equip youths (15-35 years old) living in Islamic States with the competencies required for supporting a just transition in their communities. Up to 10 finalists will receive mentoring and training for a period of one week to improve their projects. The top three ideas will be awarded US$50 thousand, US$30 thousand, and US$20 thousand respectively, to implement the proposed solution. Ideas must be submitted no later than 28 July 2023. WYSE International seeks applications for the “Global Change Makers: Leadership Coaching for the Sustainable Development Goals” opportunity. Successful applicants will participate in a free year-long coaching program with leadership professionals. WYSE International accepts applications for projects which support the following Sustainable Development Goals: Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, and Climate Action, among others. The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) calls for proposals to support the strengthening of national research and innovation funding agencies in West Africa. The Science Granting Councils Initiative invites proposals from organizations (including think tanks, institutes, universities and agencies) based in Africa Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal and Sierra Leone. Organizations should have proven experience and track records in areas such as public sector science, technology and innovation; strengthening organizational capacity; and national science, among others. Palladium funds humanitarian relief efforts and supports community projects with the aim to source innovative responses to global challenges. In 2022, Palladium supports organizations that have innovative approaches to valuing nature, or sustainable solutions to getting refugees into jobs with up to AU$75 thousand. The U.S. Department of State announces the “Air Quality Management Community of Practice in Africa” program. The program seeks to build a regional community of practice to convene air quality experts to create knowledge and develop best practices to improve air quality monitoring and expand awareness. The total funding is US$440 thousand for a period of performance of up to 36 months. Eligibility is limited to U.S. and foreign non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and public international organizations. The application deadline is 04 August 2022. The European Commission (EC) seeks to contribute to the development of a green, environmentally sustainable economy in Jordan. The EC will fund projects that focus on enhanced coordination and sustainable resource management in the energy, water and agriculture sectors. Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between €1 million and €1.25 million. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Jordan. The deadline for submission of applications is 18 August 2022. Link
