The Fulbright-Nehru Master’s Fellowships support Indians residing in India to pursue a master’s degree program at selected U.S. colleges and universities. The many eligible subject areas include environmental sciences such as toxicology, natural resource management, pollution prevention, environmental law, environmental engineering, and environmental policy analysis (among others). The fellowships are for one or two years. Applicants need to have at least three years of full-time professional work experience relevant to the proposed field of study at the time of application. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Zambia. CFLI provides funding to projects that create income-earning opportunities for women (which may also include rural agricultural development). The average contribution is C$30 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. The Keepers of the Earth Fund (KOEF) is a small grant fund supporting Indigenous values-based community development. Grants range between US$500 and US$7 thousand and are awarded to Indigenous-led projects, organizations, and groups worldwide. Themes of past grants include biodiversity conservation, cultural heritage, climate change, fair use of natural resources, and others. The application deadline is 10 February 2024. Link to KOEF

The Merian Institute for Advanced Studies in Africa (MIASA) provides writing training to Africa-based early career researchers working on the themes of governance, democracy, and green energy. The 5-day program will be organized as a writing retreat, with daily seminars and writing sessions. The University of Durham is open to applications for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship 2024. The scholarship aims to enable female students from developing countries to undertake postgraduate studies at the University of Durham. Applicants must be offered a place in one of the University’s master’s programs and be a nationals of a developing country listed in the call. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Argentina. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management, among other thematic priorities. The average contribution for each project is C$25 thousand to C$35 thousand. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national or community-based organizations. IMAGINE if… is a research grant for the provision of research and business support by the University of Reading and Henley Business School. The research grant is worth up to the value of £100 thousand. Shortlisted finalists will be paired with counselors and researchers before preparing a business proposal to solve a global development challenge. Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) Global is an eight-month program for young changemakers who wish to start or scale up their social enterprises in Singapore and beyond. Participants have access to online workshops, remote mentorship, regional learning and pitching sessions. Shortlisted teams have the chance to win S$20 thousand in funding to launch or scale their social enterprise. Eligibility extends to individuals aged between 18 to 35 years, with a viable and innovative business solution to a social issue anywhere in the world. Every two years, the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) awards nine prizes of US$10 thousand each to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least 10 years.
