Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange program for aspiring entrepreneurs. New entrepreneurs will benefit from on-the-job training in a small or medium-sized enterprise in another participating country. The program provides practical and financial assistance, and matches entrepreneurs with experienced hosts. Applications are accepted from both, host entrepreneurs (HEs) – ideally owners of a micro or small enterprise – and new entrepreneurs (NEs) in their early stages. Participating NEs will receive financial support for travel, living and subsistence costs during the visit. Applications are accepted from permanent residents in one of 28 EU Member States, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Iceland, Montenegro, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine and Kosovo. The Equator Prize 2025 recognizes innovative initiatives that showcase how action on nature, led by Indigenous Peoples and local communities, can provide effective climate solutions, and demonstrate effective pathways to transform the global systems for people and Planet. Nominated projects may focus on solutions for sustainable food systems, restoration of ecosystems that help communities adapt to the impacts of climate change, or protection of terrestrial or marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and wildlife. The WARA Scholar Mobility Fellowship supports young West African scholars for research visits to other institutions on the continent. The fellowship program will award one predoctoral grant of US$4,000 for travel to West Africa to conduct research. The program is open to West African nationals, with preference given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities, and research institutions. The WARA Travel Grant supports African scholars and graduate students for research visits to other institutions on the continent. Travel grant funds may be used to attend and present papers at academic conferences relevant to the applicant’s field of research; visit libraries or archives in support of the applicant’s current academic work; engage in collaborative work with colleagues at another institution; and travel to a research site. The grant provides travel costs up to US$1,500 and a stipend of US$1,500. The program is open to West African nationals, with preference given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities, and research institutions. Het X-Y Actiefonds makes small grants for grassroots actions across a range of thematic areas, including ecology (environment). It supports politically controversial projects that do not easily find financial aid elsewhere. Examples of supported activities include demonstrations, blockades, occupations, direct actions, revolts, revolutions, and other confrontational action. Grants are a maximum of €3 thousand. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Paraguay. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation. The average contribution for each project is C$25 thousand to C$35 thousand. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. The RGS-IBG offers a number of grants for graduate and post-graduate geography research in an international context. Grants range from £250 to £30 thousand. Many awards are restricted to nationals of the UK and EU, and/or students at UK universities.
