Tools with a Mission — Tools for Livelihoods in Africa
Tools with a Mission (TWAM) supports livelihood projects in Rwanda, Burundi, Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia or Zimbabwe. The program ships tools and school books to registered charities and NGOs either working in Africa or based in Africa. Organizations can apply for different kits, including the Agricultural Tool Kit, the Electricians Kit, and the Plumbers Tool Kit. Landscape Alliance — Sustainable Tools for Land Preparation and Soil Health
The Landscape Alliance invites applications for the fifth call of the K4GGWA Innovation Facility, supporting practical tools, implements, and simple machines that improve land restoration across the Great Green Wall region. The call seeks innovations for land preparation and planting, soil health improvement, water harvesting, erosion control, vegetation restoration, and labour-saving technologies. Eligible applicants include innovators, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, researchers, farmer organizations, cooperatives, and restoration practitioners working in the 11 Great Green Wall countries: Burkina Faso, Chad, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, and Sudan. The Ford Philanthropy Fellowship invites applications from entrepreneurs and community leaders developing solutions in community development, education, and disaster preparedness and response. Eligible applicants are adults aged 18 or older leading ventures or organizations that have operated for one to five years with fewer than 10 team members and demonstrated impact. The fellowship is open to applicants creating impact in Brazil, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam, with priority given to those working in Ford plant communities and areas affected by recurring disasters. The fully funded program includes entrepreneurial training, expert mentorship, leadership workshops, access to financial tools and networks, and a community development stipend to support a local Basecamp event. The Wellcome Trust supports bold and creative discovery research that has the potential to improve human life, health, and well-being. Career Development Awards provide funding for mid-career researchers from any discipline who have the potential to be international research leaders. Research can be in any discipline, including STEM, experimental medicine, or climate – as long as it has the potential to improve human life. The Trust provides a salary for the grant holder and research expenses for up to 8 years. Stiftung Artenschutz — Amphibian Conservation Fund
The Amphibian Conservation Fund supports conservation actions for threatened amphibian species worldwide. Projects must focus on species listed as Critically Endangered, Endangered, or Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List. Initiatives targeting Data Deficient or Not Evaluated species may also qualify if a clear conservation concern is demonstrated. Eligible activities include habitat protection, urgent field research, conservation breeding, reintroductions, training, education, and community engagement. Global Environment Facility — Small Grants Program
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme invites civil society organizations to apply for the CSO Challenge Program, which supports the scaling and replication of proven environmental solutions that generate global environmental benefits while strengthening local communities. Eligible applicants are civil society organizations with successful initiatives that align with one of five priority areas: community-based management of threatened ecosystems and species; sustainable agriculture or fisheries and food security; low-carbon energy access; chemicals and waste management; or sustainable urban solutions. The program provides grants of up to US$300 thousand. The first call is open to civil society organizations in Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Lipman Family Prize — Funding for Social Change
Each year, the Lipman Family Prize awards cash to three social impact organizations – US$250 thousand for the winning organization and US$125 thousand for each of the two other honorees. The award recognizes and amplifies the work of organizations devoted to positive social impact and creating sustainable solutions to significant social and economic challenges. Past winners include projects in the field of improved sanitation, energy innovations, and micro-forestry.
