International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology — Collaborative Research Grants

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) provides funding for scientific projects in the life sciences, healthcare, bioenergy, and agricultural biotechnology. This program is open to principal investigators at universities or research institutes located in ICGEB Member States, with a specific category of “Early Career Return Grants” available for researchers under 40 who have recently returned to their home country from abroad. International Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology — BiotechNet Grants

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) supports original research projects in basic science, healthcare, and biotechnology specifically for investigators in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda. These two-year grants offer a maximum annual contribution of €24,000 (€48,000 total) to cover consumables, equipment, and travel, with a unique requirement that lead investigators must host a fellow from another partner country to foster regional collaboration. Eligible applicants must hold a position at a university or research institute in one of the four beneficiary countries, and a special “Early Career Return Grant” is available for researchers under 40 who have recently returned to the region after at least two years abroad. British Council — Scholarships for Women in STEM

The British Council launches a scholarship program in partnership with UK universities to benefit women from the Americas, South Asia, South East Asia, Egypt, and Wider Europe. The scholarship provides women with a background in STEM with financial support to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM. COASTHazar – Joint Master in Coastal Hazards

The COASTHazar Joint Master program prepares students to address coastal risks and climate change impacts through a two-year curriculum spanning Spain, the Netherlands, and Portugal. This global program is open to students with a university degree in engineering, geosciences, or environmental sciences. While full Erasmus Mundus scholarships are not available for the 2026–2028 edition, the program offers a reduced tuition fee to support incoming participants. Students spend the first three semesters moving between the Universidad de Cantabria, IHE Delft, and the University of Algarve before completing a thesis project. Nikon — Small World Competition 2026

The Nikon Small World Competition is open to anyone with an interest in photography through the microscope. Each year, the top 20 prize-winners are exhibited at numerous museums and science centers throughout the United States and Canada. The Top 3 winners will receive up to US$3 thousand. Only photomicrographs are eligible. Entries must be received no later than 30 April 2026. Know more

IUCN-Netherlands — Land Acquisition for Conservation

The World Conservation Union in the Netherlands (IUCN-Netherlands) provides grants up to €85 thousand for the purchase and protection of threatened wildlife habitats and vulnerable ecosystems in Asia, Asia-Pacific countries, Africa, and Latin America. The grants are to qualified and experienced local non-profit conservation organizations. Local conservation NGOs and CSOs are eligible for this program and are invited to submit their proposals. Zayed Sustainability Prize — Call for Applications

The Zayed Sustainability Prize recognizes achievements that are driving impact, innovation and inspiration in environmental stewardship and global sustainability. The Prize is awarded across several categories: (i) Health; (ii) Food; (iii) Energy; (iv) Water; and (v) Global high schools (i.e., high schools in six world regions). The winners in each category receive US$600 thousand each. The closing date for applications and nominations is June 2026. Know more

IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — MSc Scholarship

IHE Delft offers 4 scholarships that cover the full tuition fee of the MSc program on Water and Sustainable Development to citizens from Latin America or the Caribbean. The scholarship includes tuition fees, insurance, international travel costs, and an allowance of €1,115 per month for the cost of living and accommodation. Zendesk — Tech for Good Impact Awards

The Zendesk Tech for Good Impact Awards provides free software and multiple grants ranging from US$5 thousand to US$50 thousand to global nonprofit organizations. Impact Awards are made to products that promote resilience, foster community, and increase access to careers in technology in areas that range from refugee rights to environmental justice. UNESCO World Heritage Center — Requests for International Assistance

Grants under the World Heritage Convention are made to help protect the World Cultural and Natural Heritage sites. Requests must be transmitted by a State Party National Commission for UNESCO or Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, or an appropriate governmental department or ministry. The limits on funding vary with the type of request (e.g., technical cooperation, training and research, promotion and education, preparatory assistance, emergency assistance).
