Journalism Fund — Investigation Grants for Environmental Journalism

The Investigation Grants for Environmental Journalism supports cross-border teams of professional journalists or news outlets to conduct investigations into environmental affairs related to Europe. The grant covers working time and expenses such as logistics, travel, insurance, access to legal support, translations, and access to technology and data sets. The total available amount to be distributed among all supported investigations will be around €400 thousand. Weeden Foundation — Protecting Biodiversity

The Weeden Foundation makes grants for biodiversity conservation in forest ecosystems, riparian corridors, and riverine and aquatic environments of ecological importance. Weeden’s international priorities are the Patagonia region of Chile and the Altai Republic of Russia. The average grant size is between US$15 and US$20 thousand. Play for Nature — Biodiversity Conservation

Play for Nature supports global biodiversity conservation through two thematic tracks: Biodiv’Monde, focused on in-situ conservation and scientific studies of endangered species and habitats, and Biodiv’Sport, which funds projects linking biodiversity awareness with sports events and outdoor activities. Grants range from €5 thousand to €15 thousand per project and are open to environmental NGOs operating anywhere in the world. The deadline to apply is 16 August 2026. Play for Nature

Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Travel Grants Program

SEARCA provides travel grants to qualified agriculture and agriculture-related professionals, social scientists, or graduate students in Southeast Asia. Applicants can request up to US$1,200 to participate and/or present papers at relevant local or international scientific conferences and fora. Eligibility extends to nationals from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam. Royal Society — Entrepreneur in Residence

The Royal Society Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) scheme aims to increase the knowledge and awareness in UK universities of cutting-edge industrial science, research, and innovation. The scheme provides industrial scientists and entrepreneurs with the opportunity to spend one day a week at a university developing their projects. The EiR awards are for one year. The value of the scheme is up to a maximum of £20 thousand. The scheme is open to applicants of any nationality, who are eligible to work in the UK. InteRussia — Energy Fellowships

InteRussia announces a Fellowship in the Energy Sector for specialists from ASEAN countries. The fellowship consists of lectures, seminars, and visits to government agencies, industrial enterprises and major energy infrastructure facilities. The fellowship covers travel costs, accommodation, a monthly stipend, visa support, and insurance, and includes an academic and cultural programme hosted by Russian partner institutions. Dawn Project — Climate Change Ambassadors

The Dawn Project Competition 2026, themed “Our Climate, Our Health, Our Responsibility: Every Action Matters”, invites individuals of all ages to creatively explore the connection between climate change and human health. The competition accepts a variety of artistic submissions, including essays, poetry, visual art, graphic design, music, and other innovative formats. Social Shifters — Global Innovation Challenge

Social Shifters announces the Global Innovation Challenge to help young leaders and founders solve the social or environmental issues that matter to them. The challenge seeks creative ideas, projects, and business solutions to the problems that matter to local communities and welcomes ideas from anywhere in the world. Participants compete for awards of up to US$15 thousand to deliver activities that improve lives, help communities, and protect the planet. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — Publishing DNA-derived Data

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for projects that facilitate the publication of DNA-derived biodiversity data through its network. This program is open to institutions and organizations worldwide that aim to develop or improve technical pipelines for sharing molecular data, such as metabarcoding or environmental DNA results. The initiative offers grants of up to €20 thousand to support technical developments, documentation, and training that enhance the flow of genetic information into the GBIF platform. Global Biodiversity Information Facility — DNA Reference Libraries for Biodiversity Research

The Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) invites proposals for projects that support the creation and integration of DNA reference libraries to enhance biodiversity monitoring. This program is open to research institutions, universities, and non-governmental organizations worldwide that aim to bridge gaps in taxonomic coverage by linking genetic sequences to voucher specimens and publishing the resulting data through the GBIF network. The initiative provides grants of up to €10 thousand to cover costs related to specimen sequencing, data curation, and technical workflows. The deadline for applications is 03 August 2026.
