The Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Prize seeks business owners and entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia with innovations in renewable energy and agriculture. The Prize includes a US$355 thousand cash prize for winners and runners-up, and sponsorship to participate in the Clean Asia Energy Forum in the Philippines (June 2020). The Prize is open to mid-stage businesses and youth innovators. To be eligible for the mid-stage prize, enterprises must have existing services or products. Swedish International Development Agency — Training Course: Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation in South Asia
Sida funds short-term training in selected development topics for participants from developing countries. Organizations in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, and Nepal are invited to nominate candidates for the Advanced International Training Programme ‘Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation – Integrated Processes.’ Candidates representing government organisations, private companies, universities, or NGOs at national, regional or local level are encouraged to apply. The training will be provided in two parts: part 1 in Sweden, and part 2 in Nepal. Climate Tracker seeks emerging journalists from South Asia who tell stories about the air pollution crisis. Journalists are expected to produce multimedia stories that show how air pollution is impacting their communities. Climate Solver is a climate innovations platform developed by WWF to strengthen the development and widespread use of low carbon technologies. Kinship Foundation — Conservation Workshop
The Kinship Foundation invites participants to the Kinship Conservation Workshop in India. During the workshop, participants will learn how economic tools can be applied to enhance community-based conservation projects, study the successes and failures of incentive-based conservation in India, as well as globally, and be introduced to alternative pathways to achieve conservation impact. Applicants should be mid-career conservation practitioners from India with at least three years of field experience in natural resources management. Kinship Foundation will cover all workshop expenses, including lodging, food, classroom materials and field trips. U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) — Water and Energy for Food
The Water and Energy for Food challenge fund is a partnership between the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The program objectives are to expand the scale of innovations that impact the sectors food and water, food and energy or all three sectors of the nexus, to increase the sustainability of agricultural food value chains, improving energy and water efficiency, and to improve climate resilient agriculture in developing countries and emerging markets in accordance with the SDGs, with a particular focus on the poor and women. The two focus geographical areas are the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and South/Southeast Asia. Award size is of a maximum of US$15 million. Flemish Inter-University Council — International Training Programme on ‘eR-Biostat’
VLIR-UOS is the secretariat of Flemish universities for development cooperation, with funding by Belgian Development Cooperation. VLIR-UOS announces the International Training Programme on ‘eR-Biostat’ that will take place at Hasselt University, Belgium. The program aims to train the participants in using and developing a new E-learning system in Biostatistics/Statistics. Eligibility for scholarships extends to applicants in 31 developing countries of Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Faculty and Student Mobility Grant
The SEARCA Faculty and Student Mobility Grant enables grantees to conduct their research work or take courses at selected Southeast Asian universities. The Faculty Mobility Grant is intended for regular employees of academic or research institutions, or government agencies. The Student Mobility Grant is open to ongoing graduate students at Southeast Asian universities. The applicant’s areas of specialization must be in the field of sustainable agricultural and rural development. Eligibility extends to nationals from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, or Vietnam.
