DeserTech — Water in Rural Africa

DeserTech launches a challenge competition to bring water technology to rural villages in Africa. The winning technology will get a sponsored Proof of Concept (POC)  with Innovation:Africa. Innovation: Africa provides clean water to remote villages by drilling into the borehole and pumping water throughout rural areas. DeserTech is looking for off-grid, low-maintenance Israeli technologies that provide safe drinking water to villages. European Commission — Boosting Food Production in Rwanda

The European Commission (EC) aims to promote sustainable food production of socially and environmentally inclusive agriculture value chains targeting local markets in Rwanda. Applicants may request up to €700 thousand in project funding. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations established in the European Union or Rwanda. U.S. Government — Advancing Environmental Journalism in the Southeast Asia Region

The U.S. Government announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that advance environmental journalism in Southeast Asia. Projects may have a duration of up to 48 months and should have an impact that leads to reforms. Applicants can request grants between US$740 thousand and US$1.4 million. Eligibility extends to U.S.- or foreign-based non-profit organizations, institutions of higher education, and business. Applications are due 03 April 2023. Details

U.S. Government — International Environmental Governance Capacity Building

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency seeks applications for a collaborative program that would enhance environmental governance capacity in several regions in Central America and the Caribbean, South America, the Middle East and North Africa, and other bilateral initiatives, including Mexico, China, Indonesia, Taiwan, Sub-Sahara Africa, Ukraine, and Brazil. Applications will be accepted from local governments; international organizations; public and private universities; and non-profit institutions. Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen — Networking Civil Societies

The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) promotes tandem cooperations between civil society organizations from Germany and partner countries (listed in the announcement). CCP Synergy is aimed at employees from two organizations who are planning a joint initiative. The purpose of such a collaboration could be, for example, the planning and implementation of joint events, fact-finding missions, research or artistic undertaking in the fields of sustainable development or climate justice. Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area — Water-Energy-Ecosystem-Food Nexus

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA) aims to leverage knowledge on the Nexus management of Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems resources in the Mediterranean region. PRIMA seeks concepts and practical solutions that address the interdependency of food, water and energy securities by analyzing trade-offs and synergies between sectors and potential impact on social stability due to resource shortages and climate change. Projects can request up to €3.1 million for a period of 36 months. Companies/enterprises, non-profit organizations, NGOs, public research organizations, and universities from the following non-EU countries are eligible: Israel, Tunisia, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Morocco. Feed the Future Market Systems and Partnerships — Mozambique Partnerships Facility

Market Systems and Partnerships (MSP) invites for-profit businesses to apply for funding in Mozambique. MSP offers firms operating in the country the opportunity to co-invest with USAID to address the food crisis resulting from shortages of food, fuel, and fertilizer due to Russia’s war on Ukraine. Feed the Future Market Systems and Partnerships — Food Loss and Waste Partnerships Facility

The Feed the Future Market Systems and Partnerships Activity (MSP) invites for-profit businesses in Bangladesh, Kenya, Nepal, Niger, Nigeria, and Tanzania to submit an application for co-investment through its Food Loss and Waste (FLW) Partnerships Facility. Investment partnerships will increase the uptake and scaling of technologies and management practices that reduce Food Loss and Waste. The closing date for applications is 24 February 2023. Government of India & European Union — Cooperation on Research and Innovation

The Government of India and the European Union seek applications for collaborative research & innovation projects carried out by consortia of organizations working together on research & innovation in areas of AI, electric energy storage solutions; zero emission vehicles; and biofuels. Any legal entity/organization (public or private research institute/university) established in India or the European Union with expertise in relevant and distinct disciplines is eligible to apply. GSMA — Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action

GSMA Innovation Fund for Anticipatory Humanitarian Action seeks to help accelerate the testing, adoption and scalability of digital innovations that leverage mobile digital technology to help anticipate potential humanitarian impacts and enable effective early response. Successful projects will receive an equity-free grant of between £100 thousand and £250 thousand to scale their innovation over a 15 to 18 month period.
