The European Commission calls for projects that contribute to poverty reduction and social inclusion of people confined in the informal economy and disadvantaged/marginalised groups. The Asian Women In Business Scholarship (AWIB) encourages and promotes exceptional Asian female students and social entrepreneurs who have demonstrated leadership, community service and/or entrepreneurship. SDGs&Her is an online competition for women entrepreneurs from all around the world to showcase how they are supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through their business operations. Succow Foundation — CADI Fellowship 2018
The Michael Succow Foundation supports early-career scientists from Central Asia though the Central Asian Desert Initiative (CADI) Fellowship Programme. The project must have a clear relevance for the country of origin (China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan) and should focus on the increase of sustainability or improvement of livelihoods in the region. UK Natural Environment Research Council — Latin American Biodiversity Programme
NERC invites proposals under the Latin American Biodiversity Programme. The Programme aims to provide trans-regional understanding of the role of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Applicants are invited to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible UK-based researchers and at least two participating LATAM countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile or Peru). Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs — Voice Opportunity Grants
The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides opportunity grants to effectively empower and give voice to marginalized and discriminated people in low- and lower-middle income countries of Africa and Asia. The thematic areas include one for improved governance and access to productive resources (e.g., land and water) and employment. The priority countries are Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, Laos, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Philippines, Tanzania, and Uganda. Voice hopes to stimulate learning about the most successful methods of building community empowerment. Applications are invited from legally registered nonprofit civil society organizations and community groups. The applicant (or a consortium member) must be based in Africa or Asia, and operate in one or more of the focus countries. Grants range from €5 thousand to €200 thousand for up to 6-12 months. The NAM S&T Centre invites applications from scientists from the developing countries for the Joint NAM S&T Centre – ZMT Bremen (Germany) Fellowship in Tropical Coastal Marine Research. Under this scheme, five selected scientists will work with senior researchers and faculty members in fields related to Ecology, Biogeochemistry, Geology, and Tropical Coastal Marine Systems; and undertaking short-term joint research projects for a period of up to 3 months. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellows
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders ages 18-35 in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowships offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Applications are invited from current undergraduate or graduate students — as well as recent graduates — in Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Antipode Foundation promotes scientific research, education and makes scholarships in the field of radical geography.
