Earth Journalism Network — Oceanic Crime and Ecoviolence
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks to support investigations that result in increased reporting about deep blue sea crimes, for example, overfishing, illegal fishing, or transnational violence. EJN can award up to €4000 thousand per investigative project. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio) and other expert media practitioners with professional reporting experience. Explorers Club — Discovery Expedition Grants
The Explorers Club offers expedition grants to field researchers. Grants can be used to cover fieldwork in biological sciences, archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, earth sciences, ecology, and astronomy. Grants support researchers and explorers from around the world and generally range from US$25 thousand to US$40 thousand. (Note: Grant recipients must provide first right of refusal to cover their expedition, and will have access to Discovery Channel’s global audience through their digital and television programing.) FSC Indigenous Foundation — Indigenous Fellowship Program
The FSC Indigenous Foundation (FSC-IF) accepts applications from Indigenous Peoples passionate about creating meaningful changes for their communities around the world. The topic areas of this fellowship opportunity are Environment/Climate Change, Land Rights, and Indigenous Economies. Fellows will be placed in FSC-IF’s offices in Panama City, Panama, or in IPARD´s partner organizations. Applicants may apply in English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese. The Swedish Institute (SI) provides citizens of South Africa with fully-funded international scholarships for master’s studies in Sweden. The scholarship aims to develop future global leaders that will contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and contribute to a positive and sustainable development in South Africa. The scholarship is intended for full-time one-year or two-year master’s programs. Expo Live — Innovation Impact Grant Programme
Expo Live supports novel solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in funding to support the growth of social enterprises, startups and grassroots projects from around the world that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges. EJN welcomes any story ideas that will explore coastal resilience issues, including ecosystem rehabilitation, livelihood and food security, shelter and infrastructure, land use and development. Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation Indonesia (Small Grants)
Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes small grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems. This call is for small grants of less than US$50 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants.
