The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) releases a call for Letters of Inquiry for organizations that address the conservation of biodiversity in light of climate change in the Indian Ocean Islands of Tanzania and Zanzibar. CEPF expects to make between 6-10 awards with a maximum value of US$200 thousand. Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean — Rural World in Latin America and the Caribbean
The Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean seeks research proposals to fund up to nine research projects that contribute to understanding the main problems faced by rural societies and productive means in the economies of Latin America and the Caribbean. Three projects will be selected from those related to poverty and inequality, three from risk and climate change and sustainable development, while the remaining three will be selected from those related to rurality. International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies — Youth Innovation Award
The International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) invites applications for the Youth Innovation Award. CIHEAM will reward an innovative solution (scientific or entrepreneurship product/service) that contributes to the green and blue transition to improve human well-being and social equity while reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities and contributing to zero climate impact. The Trust for Mutual Understanding (TMU) makes grants to nonprofit organizations in the USA for environmental projects in collaboration with partners in the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Blue Action Fund — Eastern Tropical Pacific Region
The Blue Action Fund announces a new open call for grant proposals focusing on the Eastern Tropical Pacific Region. The Fund provides individual grants to selected conservation projects with focus on marine protected areas (MPAs) to support the conservation of biodiversity and projects that seek to enhance livelihood conditions and food security. The Fund will award grants of €2-4 million. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with proven experience in coastal and marine conservation and sustainable livelihood development in the area. The 15th edition of the Carmignac Photojournalism Award is dedicated to Southeast Asia and the violations of human and environmental rights caused by illegal fishing and overfishing. The laureates receive a €50 thousand grant to carry out a 9-month field report with the support of the Fondation Carmignac. The Award is open to all photographers, of all nationalities. The MacArthur Foundation accepts applications for the 100&Change Competition to fund a proposal that promises real and measurable progress in solving a critical problem of the time. Applicants must strive toward transformative change in areas of profound concern, including the existential threats of climate change. The MacArthur Foundation will provide US$ 100 million in funding to a single proposal. The challenge is open to organizations and collaborations working in any field, anywhere in the world. Reversing Environmental Degradation in Africa and Asia (REDAA) invites proposals for locally-led research-to-action restoration programs in Africa, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. Nine Program Grants of between £1 million and £1.5 million will be offered to the best proposals. Grants will fund programs of four years. For that purpose, the company awards cash and cruise donations to be used for fundraising purposes to non-profit organizations with like-minded goals. The Pacific Community (SPC) launches a photo contest. Submissions must illustrate climate change, marine environments, fisheries, and/or aquaculture in the Pacific Islands region.
