The International Marine Conservation Congress and Society for Conservation Biology Marine Section offer Diversity Travel Grants for delegates from developing countries (as defined by the World Bank). The Diversity Travel Grants will help offset some of the costs for qualifying delegates to present at the SCB Marine Section’s 29th International Congress for Conservation Biology (IMCC 2019) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-25 July 2019. International Institute for Tropical Agriculture — Agricultural Research for Graduate Students in Africa
The International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) will support 30 young academics and professionals for research on youth engagement in agribusiness and rural economic activities in Africa. The research has to be carried out in the following countries: Benin, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, Senegal, and Zambia. Applicants must currently be registered in PhD or masters programs in recognized universities, and may not be more than 40 years old. The program particularly invites applications from women. The accepted applicants will be offered coaching and training through IITA to build their research knowledge and skills. Awards for research grants are up to US$10 thousand. Society for International Development — Andrew E. Rice Award 2019
The Andrew E. Rice Award for Leadership and Innovation recognizes the achievements of an exceptional young professional working in the field of international development. Past winners include field research on agriculture strategies and the creation of low-cost digital games that inspire social change. Candidates must be between 22 to 32 years old and have at least two years of experience in international development in developing countries. The winner will receive US$1,000. West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use — Fellowships for Doctoral and Masters Studies
With funding provided by Germany, WASCAL engages in research to help tackle the severe challenges posed by climate change, focusing on West Africa. The WASCAL Graduate Studies Program offers full scholarships to support four master’s and six doctoral programs implemented at ten universities in West African countries. WASCAL’s member countries are Bénin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Niger, Mali, Nigeria, Sénegal, and Togo. Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey — Research Fellowships 2019
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. Global Forest Watch (GFW) is an interactive online forest monitoring and alert system designed to empower people with the information they need to better manage and conserve forest landscapes. GFW invites applications for its Technology Fellowship.
