Expo Live — Innovation Impact Grant Programme

Expo Live supports novel solutions that address pressing environmental and climate challenges. The program offers up to US$50 thousand in funding to support the growth of social enterprises, startups and grassroots projects from around the world that offer creative solutions to pressing challenges. The Grant Program is open to social entrepreneurs, SMEs, non-profit organizations, and government entities. Interested applicants should submit a pre-proposal by 01 March 2023. U.S. Mission to Uganda — Self-Help Program

The special self-help program of the U.S. Embassy to Uganda supports small, sustainable community-based initiatives that have an immediate and strong impact on the local community. The Embassy expects to support different types of projects: from development projects such as agricultural and aquacultural cooperatives to women’s empowerment and the environment. Grants typically range from US$1 thousand to US$10 thousand per project. All applicants must include a significant community contribution. Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation Indonesia (Small Grants)

Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes small grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems. This call is for small grants of less than US$50 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants. Siemenpuu Foundation — Energy Justice

The Siemenpuu Foundation promotes the systemic transition towards sustainability, meaning the dismantling of fossil and otherwise unsustainable modes of production, distribution and consumption of energy. Siemenpuu aims to support work that advocates just and environmentally sustainable energy systems, and promotes community-based renewable energy for marginalized rural communities. Grant size averages €35 thousand to €80 thousand. Local, registered Civil Society Organizations in Mali are eligible to apply. Concept papers have to be submitted by 12 February 2023. U.S. Embassy in Georgia — Small Grants Program

The Small Grants Program awards grants for specific projects that support democracy, enhance the development of democratic institutions and foster education of civil society in Georgia. The maximum amount of a grant is US$50 thousand per project. Projects must address sustainable rural development, preservation of cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, or education. Grants will be awarded to non-governmental, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and media organizations. The deadline for submission of applications is 20 February 2023. Kevin Richardson Foundation — Preserving African Wildlife Species

The Kevin Richardson Foundation funds the work of organizations who preserve African wildlife species, protect wildlife habitats, and reduce conflict between humans and wild animals. A wide variety of proposals will be considered, including academic research and rescue and rehabilitation projects. The Foundation awards up to US$ 25 thousand to successful applicants. Projects based in southern Africa are favored, however all projects based in Africa will be considered. Applicants must be a registered non-profit organization or trust. Mama Cash — Women’s Land and Resource Rights

Mama Cash makes grants in support of grassroots women’s rights groups that focus on environmental justice, for example, groups that address the exclusion of indigenous women from decision-making over their land and groups that fight for their right to water, food, and a clean, safe, and healthy environment. Grants can be used for advocacy, capacity building, public education, or forming alliances across movements. The average grant size is between €20-30 thousand per year. Grow Further — Grants for Agricultural Research Projects

Grow Further invites agricultural researchers to submit proposals for funding and management assistance. Grants support smallholder farmers and other populations at risk, research on domesticated species relevant to food and nutrition security, and communication technology in agriculture. Grants range from US$10 thousand to US$100 thousand per year. All types of organizations, public, private, and nonprofit, are eligible to apply. Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation — Environmental Sustainability Grants

The Polden-Puckham Charitable Foundation’s grant making in Environmental Sustainability addresses the pressures and conditions that risk global environmental breakdown. Past projects have included topics in sustainable agriculture; energy conservation; environmental degradation; and reduced consumption. The Foundation funds UK organizations for projects to promote peace and sustainable security — and environmental sustainability — including for international projects. Eligibility extends to UK-registered charities and to organizations in other countries that work through UK-registered charities. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mountains of Central Asia

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites applications for small grants to promote biodiversity conservation in the Mountains of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan). Small grants are a maximum of US$20 thousand. Project proposals should be built on biodiversity conservation as a fundamental component. The call is open to NGOs, community groups, cultural organizations, women’s groups, private companies and civil society organizations. International organizations are encouraged to involve local organizations or communities as project partners. Expressions of interest have to be submitted by 10 January 2023. Small Grants
