Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in the Pacific

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Kiribati. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average CFLI contribution is C$45 thousand. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. The deadline for submission is 09 March 2025. Link to CFLI

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Ecuador. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as water and waste management. The average contribution is C$25 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. Doc Society — Climate Story Fund

The Doc Society supports stories and impact campaigns from around the world that move humankind closer to a climate just and biodiverse future. The Climate Story Fund will support 6-8 projects with grants ranging from US$50 thousand to US$125 thousand per project. The fund is open to all mediums and will support both production and impact campaigns. Projects may come from all over the world (including localized stories serving local communities) and can be submitted by both new and established artists. PAGES — LAC Mobility Fellowship

PAGES runs an International Mobility Research Fellowship Program for Latin American and Caribbean early-career scientists on past global changes. The program aims to contribute to the development of collaborative research and the promotion of paleoscience networks in Latin America and the Caribbean. The fellowship supports Latin American and Caribbean early-career scientists pursuing international research experience in paleoscience and is intended to support costs associated with international travel and living expenses while abroad. Dory Foundation — Grants for Early Stage Non-Profit Work

The Dory Foundation supports promising, early-stage non-profit work with grants between US$10 thousand and US$250 thousand. There are no thematic restrictions, however, projects should respond to the question: “How can we keep life meaningful and fulfilling in a world where work is automated with AI”. The funding scope is global, no specific locations targeted. The project must be a charity or non-profit project. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Details

Environmental Systems Research Institute — Esri Conservation Grant Program

Esri is an international supplier of Geographic Information System (GIS) software, web GIS, and geodatabase management applications. Esri offers free or discounted GIS software, hardware, data, training, and services to support groups and individuals working for social and environmental benefit. Esri’s Conservation Grant Program makes GIS grants to non-profit organizations, programs, and individuals active in public service and nature conservation in any country. City Climate Finance Gap Fund — Urban Climate Action

The City Climate Finance Gap Fund (Gap Fund) supports cities and local governments in preparing and prioritizing climate-smart plans and investments with the goal of attracting more financing and support for implementation. The Fund focuses on climate-smart urban planning and early-stage project preparation in developing and emerging countries. Selected proposals will receive technical assistance and capacity building. Cities and local authorities can apply by submitting an Expression of Interest. There is no application deadline. About the Gap Fund

Amos Trust — Climate & Gender Fellowship

The Climate & Gender Fellowship is a 10-month program to improve project management skills and implementation of youth-led climate projects supporting women. The program is open to young women climate activists in Mexico and Central America (Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama). United Nations Development Program — Equator Prize 2025

The Equator Prize 2025 recognizes innovative initiatives that showcase how action on nature, led by Indigenous Peoples and local communities, can provide effective climate solutions, and demonstrate effective pathways to transform the global systems for people and Planet. Nominated projects may focus on solutions for sustainable food systems, restoration of ecosystems that help communities adapt to the impacts of climate change, or protection of terrestrial or marine ecosystems, biodiversity, and wildlife. The nominated initiative must have been in existence for at least three years. Each winner will receive US$10 thousand. Nominations must be submitted by 23 February 2025. Equator Prize

Africa Carbon Removal Accelerator — Carbon Removal in Africa

The Africa Carbon Removal Accelerator (ACRA) is a six-month program designed to support startups in Sub-Saharan Africa focused on carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solutions. The program provides expert-led training, access to a CDR-focused community, and insights into the latest research on sustainable carbon removal technologies. Participants will connect with key stakeholders, including policymakers, investors, and verification bodies, to strengthen their business models and scale their solutions. The program is open to startups across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on those that demonstrate strong scientific, technological, and business potential.
