The Earth Journalism Network (EJN)offers support to produce in-depth reports on climate impacts in the Bay of Bengal that are hard to quantify and not usually accounted for by policymakers. Selected applicants will be provided support of up to INR 90,000 or BDT 1.25 lakh each and 1:1 editorial mentorship to produce rigorous and impactful reports. French-African Foundation — Young Leaders 2025
The French-African Foundation invites applications for Young Leaders 2025. The program recognizes and supports young leaders to become true agents of change in relation to global challenges. Candidates must be between 28 and 40 years old and have French nationality or the nationality of an African country. Successful candidates will spend five days in France, five days in Africa, engage in high-level meetings and receive training and mentorship. Flights and accommodation will be provided. Global EbA Fund — Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation
The Global Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA) Fund supports scaling up innovative approaches to ecosystem-based adaptation to increase the resilience of communities against the impacts of climate change. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the critical role of natural assets in underpinning resilience and expand the knowledge base to help make the case for working with people and nature. The fund is open for contributions of US$50 thousand to US$250 thousand, with no specified country focus. The maximum project duration is 36 months. Projects may have a global, thematic, regional and/or country-specific focus. The Fund accepts and reviews applications year-round and makes biannual funding decisions. Global EbA Fund
OPEC Fund for International Development — Grants
The OPEC Fund provides financial assistance to developing countries, particularly low-income countries, in support of their economic and social development efforts. OPEC will consider requests for (i) grants for country-specific activities and projects; (ii) grants for special development initiatives of global or regional scope; and (iii) emergency aid. In the past, the OPEC Fund has financed projects in agriculture, energy, health, transportation, and water and sanitation sectors. The amount of the contribution will vary according to the scope and the nature of the proposed activity. However, except for emergency aid and small grants in amounts of up to US$100 thousand, OPEC’s contribution should not exceed 50% of the total cost. Eligible partners are any government or non-government entity, including co-financing partners, private sector entities, research entities, UN agencies, and international NGOs. There is no deadline. OceanHub Africa supports African for-profit startups focused on preserving and restoring the health of the ocean. The 6-month acceleration program provides mentorship, services, software, fundraising support, and a network of leading ocean experts, mentors (entrepreneurs, investors, innovation experts, impact experts, scientists, lawyers, etc.), impact investors, and potential clients. Eligibility extends to for-profit start-ups operating in Africa and with a clear focus on ocean issues (e.g., climate change, pollution, or overexploitation). BIMP-EAGA–Republic of Korea Cooperation Fund — Balanced Growth in Southeast Asia
The BKCF invites project proposals for its 5th grant cycle, aiming to promote inclusive and balanced growth in Southeast Asia and contribute to ASEAN Connectivity. Priority sectors include environment (e.g., climate mitigation and adaptation), tourism (e.g., ecotourism), connectivity (e.g., green transport), and agriculture and fisheries (e.g., food security). Eligible applicants are government agencies, public sector institutes, academic and research institutes, NGOs, private sector entities, or other autonomous institutes from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the Republic of Korea. Individuals are not eligible. Grants range from US$100 thousand to US$500 thousand for 1-year projects and US$200 thousand to US$500 thousand for 2-year projects, with a maximum of US$250 thousand per country for multi-country projects. The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) invites innovative research proposals. The program seeks to advance rain enhancement science and technology, focusing on five key areas: enhanced seeding materials, rain enhancement systems, autonomous aerial systems, localized climate intervention, and advanced models, software, and data. Eligible applicants include domestic and international public or private, non-profit or for-profit organizations, and individuals. Proposals are evaluated based on scientific merit, project plan, team qualifications, resource availability, and capacity building. Bosch Business Innovations — CarbonCapture Startup Challenge
The CarbonCapture Startup Challenge is a three-month virtual program designed to support early-stage startups developing innovative solutions in Direct Air Capture (DAC), Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), and downstream applications within the carbon dioxide value chain. Selected startups will receive €15 thousand in funding, mentorship from Bosch experts, and access to a global network of industry professionals and investors. Eligible applicants are early-stage tech startups in the pre-seed to seed stage, comprising teams of 2-4 members with diverse skill sets, and must be registered legal entities. West African Research Association — Residency Fellowship
The West African Research Association, (WARA) offers Residencies for WARA member institutions to host a West African Scholar on their campus. Each residency will last 4-8 weeks. WARA will pay the round-trip travel costs of the selected scholar as well as a stipend of US$3500 to help cover meals and local transportation costs.
