Funding will be provided in support of conservation/preservation of biodiversity in coastal areas and plant conservation in Algeria. Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management (BIOPAMA) makes small grants for the technical assessment of protected conservation areas. Small Technical Grants for Assessment (STGA) aim to identify result-oriented priority actions for improved protected and conserved areas management and governance. The maximum amount is €20 thousand per assessment. Assessments must take place in priority areas such as key landscapes for conservation, key biodiversity areas, marine managed areas or other protected and conserved areas in Africa, the Caribbean and the Asia-Pacific region. German Academic Exchange Service — Climate Research Fellowship
ClimapAfrica supports research on climate change and possible solutions. African PhD students are invited to submit postdoctoral climate research projects to one of the following research areas: Agriculture, Climate Science, Veterinary Medicine, Biodiversity, Food Security, Marine Science, Energy, Water Resources, and Forest Sustainability, among others. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) awards fellowships of max. €10 thousand, plus a monthly allowance to cover research costs for a period of 12 to 18 months. German Government — International Climate Initiative Peru
Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI) supports projects on climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable energy, and biodiversity projects with climate relevance in Peru. The German Government will support projects ranging from €12 million to €15 million. U.S. Mission to Thailand — Annual Grant Program
The U.S. Embassy in Thailand announces an open competition for organizations and individuals to submit applications to carry out programs that promote the US-Thai partnership. The Embassy funds activities that increase awareness of Thailand’s environmental interests, including the importance of water management, among other areas of interest. U.S. Agency for International Development — Community Response to Conservation Crimes
The United States Agency for International Development in Peru (USAID/Peru) seeks applications from qualified entities to implement the “Regional Community Response to Conservation Crimes” program. USAID aims to increase civil society led efforts to promote society values and raise awareness of the benefits of protecting both biodiversity and cultural identity linked to the Amazon Biome. Projects should include approaches for alternative economic development that safeguards cultural identities and expands livelihoods while protecting biodiversity on land and water. U.S. Agency for International Development — Natural Resource Security in the Philippines
The U.S. Agency for International Development Mission in the Philippines (USAID/Philippines) invites applications for funding from eligible organizations to carry out activities that will contribute to the improvement of natural resource security and governance in the Philippines. USAID will support activities that strengthen the Philippines’ commitment to biodiversity and habitat protection and improve the government’s capacity to manage its natural resources. The U.S. Department of State announces funding for projects that further the U.S. Mission’s public diplomacy goals in Vietnam, including improved environmental sustainability, climate mitigation and adaptation. Grants will be below US$25 thousand. Proposals over US$25 thousand will be considered only with a cost share and on a case-by-case basis. Global Landscape Forum — Landscape Restoration in the Aral Sea Region
The Global Disruptive Tech Challenge 2021 aims to identify and support disruptive technologies and innovative approaches to landscape restoration in the Aral Sea region and Central Asia. Innovators (individuals or organizations) from around the world are invited to submit disruptive technologies that can help alleviate the negative impacts on landscapes from natural and human induced factors (including unsustainable agricultural and forestry practices, water scarcity, and climate change).
