Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Tajikistan

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Tajikistan. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. The average contribution is C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. United Nations University — Visiting PhD Fellowship

The Visiting PhD Fellowship Program gives registered doctoral students an opportunity to utilize the resources and facilities at UNU-WIDER for their PhD dissertation or thesis research on developing economies. Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program and have shown ability to conduct research on developing economies. NU-WIDER provides a travel grant and a monthly stipend of €1,850 to cover living expenses in Helsinki during the period of their fellowship. Innovate 4 Nature — Award for Nature-Positive Solutions

The Innovate 4 Nature Award honors projects, companies, and entrepreneurs that have developed promising, high-quality nature-positive solutions. The four key areas of the I4N Award are sustainable management of ecosystems; nature as infrastructure; regenerative agriculture; and circular nature-positive solutions. The award offers a total of CHF 100 thousand in prize money. In addition to the financial support, award winners can benefit from access to an ecosystem of partners and experts. Chatham House — Microgrants

The Chatham House Sustainability Accelerator provides microgrants to crowdsource and catalyze innovative ideas to reach a sustainable future. Grants of £1,000 are available to transform ideas for sustainability solutions to solve sustainability challenges. Chatham House welcomes applications from all backgrounds and geographies. Vital Voices — Fellowships for Women Entrepreneurs

Vital Voices offers GROW Fellowships to women entrepreneurs who own small and medium-sized businesses. The program includes customized business skills training, technical assistance, leadership development, and access to networks to grow their businesses. Thematic business areas may include agriculture, fisheries, and forestry with potential for growth. A limited number of need and merit-based scholarships will be available. Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — SFIAR Award 2024

SFIAR annually awards a prize to scientists working at or in association with a Swiss institution in agricultural research for development. For 2024, the best team project will be awarded CHF10 thousand, and the best masters thesis CHF1 thousand. German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development — Digital Innovation for Smallholder Farmers in Latin America

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development seeks solutions that use agricultural technologies and digital tools (agritech) to enhance the profitability of smallholder farmers in Latin America, improving their resilience to climate change. Selected entities will receive grants of up to US$ 85 thousand to fund technical assistance projects tailored to the conditions, needs, and potential of smallholder farmers. Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — John Allwright Fellowship

ACIAR awards the John Allwright Fellowship for university postgraduate studies in Australia. In 2024, the program on applications from partner countries in the African region, South Asia, East and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific region. European Commission — Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships provide opportunities to acquire and transfer new knowledge and to work on research in a European context or outside Europe. The scheme particularly supports the return and re-integration of researchers from outside Europe who have previously worked there. It also develops or helps to re-start the careers of individual researchers that show great potential, considering their experience. Applicants in the EU; their overseas territories; countries associated with Horizon 2020; and most developing countries are eligible for consideration. The closing date for applications is 11 September 2024. About
