The International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) accepts applications for the prestigious Regenerative Innovation Competition. The initiative aims to unite visionaries from Latin America and the Caribbean, in an effort to generate breakthrough solutions in fields such as Renewable Energy and Urban Sustainability, among others. Participation is open to individuals aged 16 and above, including representatives of academic institutions, third-sector organizations, startups, and traditional businesses. The Resilience Collaborative Research Action (CRA) call focuses on transdisciplinary research about vulnerability and resilience management for socio-environmental systems in exposed territories. Funding will support research consortia composed of international partners from various disciplines. The project duration is 36 months. The Sahee Foundation makes grants for agriculture, health, education, and the environment in Swaziland and Peru. Sahee selects its partners among regional organizations that are well integrated in these target countries, as well as among local groups in Swaziland and Peru that launch development projects. Tools with a Mission (TWAM) supports livelihood projects in DR Congo, Malawi, Uganda, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The program ships tools and school books to registered charities and NGOs either working in Africa or based in Africa. Organizations can apply for different kits, including the Agricultural Tool Kit, the Electricians Kit, and the Plumbers Tool Kit. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Morocco. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs, entrepreneurship, environment, and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is C$15 thousand to C$20 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to local community organizations, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions. The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) recognizes work in Science & Technology and Human & Social Sciences, with a focus on diversity within the Francophone academic community, especially in developing countries. The prize offers grants of €5,000 to support the future research endeavors of the winners. Eligible candidates must be 40 years old or younger, hold a doctorate, and demonstrate significant and innovative research. Interested applicants must submit their nomination by 27 June 2025. The Green Institute offers the Green Fellows program for students passionate about sustainability, food security, climate action, and environmental law. Friends of Nepal (FoN) supports initiatives that fight climate change and environmental degradation and provide solutions to agricultural and economic development in Nepal. FoN welcomes applications that simultaneously address climate change, natural resource conservation, and sustainability as well as economic development. The Journalism Science Alliance (JSA) grant program aims to foster investigative journalism grounded in scientific principles. This initiative provides grant funding, alongside training, mentoring, and networking opportunities, to cultivate collaboration between journalism and research institutions. The JSA offers grants of up to €50 thousand. The grants are open to collaborative projects involving at least one media outlet and one research or academic organization. The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program supports the involvement of young women in scientific research. This program rewards young female researchers in life and environmental sciences, material sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering sciences, and technology. Researchers will receive $15 thousand to support their doctoral or postdoctoral research studies.
