The International Marine Conservation Congress and Society for Conservation Biology Marine Section offer Diversity Travel Grants for delegates from developing countries (as defined by the World Bank). The Diversity Travel Grants will help offset some of the costs for qualifying delegates to present at the SCB Marine Section’s 29th International Congress for Conservation Biology (IMCC 2019) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-25 July 2019. MedPAN launches a new call for small projects to support Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in the Mediterranean. Small grants are available for habitat mapping in 4 sub-regions: Alboran Sea, Straight of Sicily/Tunisia, South of the Adriatic Sea/North of the Ionian Sea and Central Aegean Sea/Cyprus Basin. The Small-Scale Initiatives Program (PPI) launches a new call for proposals “small grants” projects. Funding will be available to local non-profit projects in Central and Western African countries with the aim contribute to biodiversity conservation and addressing climate change adaptation. The European Commission supports civil society organizations in Botswana to play an effective role as a development actor with the aim to improve capacity to hold governments accountable. One of the priorities under this call is wildlife people conflict and community based adaptation to ecosystems. Grants vary between €100 thousand and €250 thousand. IUCN announces the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest – My Place in Nature. The contest is open to all photographers and aspiring photographers worldwide. Participants are invited to share their story on ecosystems and show their very own place in nature. Winners will be announced on IUCN Red List of Ecosystems social media and exhibited at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Global Forest Watch (GFW) is an interactive online forest monitoring and alert system designed to empower people with the information they need to better manage and conserve forest landscapes. GFW invites applications for its Technology Fellowship. Through the program, GFW seeks innovators, journalists, conservationists, campaigners, law enforcement officers, scientists, and indigenous leaders who are committed to expanding their forest monitoring experience and sharing this knowledge. Selected Fellows will participate in regular online meetings, trainings and receive a stipend of US$6 thousand. The aim of this call is to implement evidence handling procedures and improve evidence management and chain of custody throughout wildlife trafficking cases Africa and Southeast Asia. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service provides financial assistance to strategic projects that conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants and their habitats. The Caribbean Regional Program funds projects to reduce the underlying threats to coastal and marine biodiversity, to conserve the coastal and marine flora and fauna, and to maximize conservation impact by developing strategic partnerships with key stakeholders on the local, national, regional and international levels. Funding for individual projects is between US$25 thousand and US$100 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to non-profit organizations and universities.
