IC-IMPACTS — Smart Cities

IC-IMPACTS and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Government of India invite proposals for the Cyber-Physical Systems to Support Green Buildings in Smart Cities. Projects under this call should aim at developing sensors, cyber-physical interfaces and solutions for energy reduction, net zero energy, carbon neutrality, reduced water usage, water harvesting, and on-site treatment, as well as to instigate other benefits for smarter and more sustainable buildings. Canadian and Indian researchers are eligible to be funded in the collaborative research. Projects can be submitted both to IC-IMPACTS or DST by 31 May 2019. More info

Mobilise Action — ITC Biodiversity Conference Grant

Mobilise Action accepts applications for the ITC Conference Grants from early-career investigators and PhD students from cost Inclusiveness Target Countries (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey). The grants aim to support researchers to participate to the Biodiversity_Next International Conference that takes place in October in The Netherlands. Eligible candidates must be already enrolled at the Conference. The grant will cover expenses of the conference up to €1.4 thousand. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2019. About the grants

British Council — Research Workshops

The British Council announces workshops that convene UK researchers with partners in other countries. Among the workshops that have deadlines beyond the date of this posting are: Brazil, Food fraud prevention using Blockchain technology (deadline 30 May 2019); China, Low-Carbon Heating and Cooling Technologies (deadline 31 May 2019); Brazil, UK-Brazil workshop on financing urban climate-resilient development (deadline 16 June 2019); Israel, Nanoscience, Neuroscience, Agri Science, Water Science, Cyber and Antimicrobial Resistance (deadline 16 June 2019). Voice — Innovate and Learn Grants

Voice Philippines opens the first Call for Proposals for the Innovate and Learn Grants. The call aim is to address issues and challenges in agriculture and fishing communities that impact local farmers and fishers. Awarded grants must focus on the defined themes and targets in the Philippines. Grants range from €5 thousand to €85 thousand for up to 6-12 months. The application deadline is 31 May 2019. Link

Climate Chance — Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019

Climate Chance opens the call for proposals for the Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019. The call is open to local authorities, businesses, NGOs, trade unions, scientists, representatives from agricultural, youth, women and indigenous organisations, educators and citizens. Initiatives corresponding to many themes will be considered: Access to climate finance in Africa; Developing African cities in a sustainable way; Agriculture, food and reforestation in Africa; Renewable energy and energy efficiency in Africa; Adaptation and Water in Africa; Education and Training on Climate Change in Africa; and others. Forest and Farm Facility — Call for Proposals 2019

The Forest and Farm Facility together with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and AgriCord launched the call for proposals to support regional and global forest and farm producer organizations to enable climate resilient landscapes and improved livelihoods. There will be one grant for a regional organization based in Africa, one in Asia and one in Latin America. In addition, and also one grant for an international association representing indigenous peoples. The grants will be up to US$75 thousand for one year. The deadline for applications is 01 June 2019. U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellowship

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Applications are invited from current full-time undergraduate students citizen of Vietnam aged between 18 and 25 years. Application deadline is 02 June 2019. Link

The Norwegian Human Rights Fund — Land and Environmental Rights

The Norwegian Human Rights Fund (NHRF) invites applications for the  Land and Environmental Rights call for proposals. Through this call, NRHF seeks to increase support to human rights organisations working with land rights and environmental rights, including natural resources.The call is open to human rights organisations located and working with land and environmental rights in Indonesia, Mexico and Thailand. SFFILM — Vulcan Productions Environmental Fellowship

SFFILM invites applications for the Vulcan Productions Environmental Fellowship. The call is directed to documentary filmmakers telling powerful stories about the environment and/or conservation. Environmental filmmakers from any nationality are invited to apply. The fellowship includes a US$25 thousand grant, an advisor with expertise in the specific environmental topic, access to SFFILM’s dynamic suite of artist development services, and a trip to San Francisco and Vulcan Production’s headquarters in Seattle to partake in workshops and other activities. ENGIE Africa invites innovators and startups to apply for the Call for Urban Power & Clean Water Solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.
