SouthSouthNorth — Just Climate Action

SouthSouthNorth (SSN) supports national and regional responses to climate change through policy and knowledge interventions, partnerships and deep collaboration. The Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) program supports communications and capacity development projects in Kenya to ensure that underrepresented groups become advocates of innovative and inclusive climate solutions. The Alliance seeks to partner with Kenyan organizations specializing in climate change-related research and advocacy for local CSOs, focusing on women, youth, urban poor, rural communities, and marginalized groups. MCW Global — Young Leaders Access Program

MCW Global seeks to help communities around the world achieve greater levels of education, improved health, and increased economic security. The Young Leaders Access Program (YLP) is a year-long program that prepares young people (18 to 26) to become leaders of change in their communities. The program offers virtual training modules, Zoom discussions, and virtual one-on-one learning between mentors and mentees. Young leaders must demonstrate commitment to their community and identify an issue in their community to address. Applications have to be submitted before 13 March 2022. Young Leaders Access Program

Siemenpuu Foundation — Biocultural Rights of Indigenous Communities

Siemenpuu Foundation calls for project proposals to support the biocultural rights of indigenous communities and their biocultural life-heritages as adapted to their local environments. The aim is to strengthen indigenous communities’ biocultural diversity and their rights to live in ways which do not threaten or weaken biodiversity and ecosystems. The range of project funding is €30 thousand to €100 thousand for projects with a maximum duration of 24 months. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — MSc in Water and Sustainable Development

The Dutch Orange Knowledge Program offers access to education and training to professionals and organizations for IHE Delft’s new Master of Science in Water and Sustainable Development. Mid-career can apply for OKP individual scholarships. Applicants who wish to apply for the OKP scholarship are recommended to apply to IHE Delft by 15 March 2022. Link

UNESCO — International Prize in the Basic Sciences

The UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev International Prize in the Basic Sciences aims to promote and honor excellence in the basic sciences (chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology). Each year, two winners receive a financial award of US$250 thousand each. UNESCO invites the governments of Member States, organizations maintaining official partnerships with UNESCO, international scientific unions and universities to propose individual candidates for the 2022 edition. Candidates must be individuals with major achievements in terms of development, diffusion, and international cooperation in the basic sciences, which led to a significant transformational impact on a regional or global scale. International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Small Grants Program

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) supports regional transboundary programs to address critical challenges in climate change, food security, water and related disasters, land use, and air quality. The small grants program is to help grow the network of government agencies, universities, and institutions in the HKH region that utilize geospatial tools and information to improve decision-making. SERVIR-HKH expects to award 4-5 grants. Individual grants will not exceed US$30 thousand. Applications will be accepted from institutions based in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Webinar Series: Climate Crises and Green Transition in Asia and the Pacific

The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites applications for a webinar series on the media’s role in a sustainable recovery in Asia and the Pacific. The goal is to help journalists strengthen their climate coverage. Webinar participants will hear from leading experts on the media’s role in helping to avert a climate catastrophe and will learn how to inform news consumers – especially young people – who turn information into action. Ocean Innovation Challenge — Area-Based Management and the Blue Economy

The Ocean Innovation Challenge (OIC) seeks innovative solutions for ecosystem-based management of marine ecosystems. Solutions must indicate effective strategies for the management of Marine Protected Areas (MPA) while enabling coastal communities and nations to realize enhanced social and economic benefits from the sustainable utilization of their ocean and coastal resources. Governmental agencies, NGOs, private sector (including start-ups), academia, UN, and intergovernmental organizations are eligible to apply. World Academy of Sciences — PhD Training Fellowships for Women Scientists

The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) invites women scientists in the field of agriculture (and other sciences) from science and technology lagging countries to apply for the OWSD PhD Training Fellowships. Each fellow will receive a monthly allowance to cover basic living expenses, a special allowance to attend international conferences, travel expenses, medical insurance, and the opportunity to attend regional science communications workshops for up to four years. EU-LAC Interest Group — Science, Technology and Innovation

The EU-LAC Interest Group launches a Joint Call to enhance the bi-regional cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation. The aim of the call is to initiate sustainable and multilateral research cooperation between researchers from Europe, Latin-America and the Caribbean countries. Transnational consortia are invited to submit proposals related to six topics in the thematic fields of Global Challenges, Health, Biodiversity, and Energy.
