FSC Indigenous Foundation — Indigenous Fellowship Program

The FSC Indigenous Foundation (FSC-IF) accepts applications from Indigenous Peoples passionate about creating meaningful changes for their communities around the world. The topic areas of this fellowship opportunity are Environment/Climate Change, Land Rights, and Indigenous Economies. Fellows will be placed in FSC-IF’s offices in Panama City, Panama, or in IPARD´s partner organizations. Applicants may apply in English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese. Yale School of the Environment — Online Certificate Program: Tropical Forest Landscapes

The course “Tropical Forest Landscapes: Conservation, Restoration and Sustainable Use” is an online certificate program for environmental professionals from around the world. The online program includes four thematic eight-week courses, a yearlong capstone project course and an optional field course in Latin America or Asia. The course covers themes in tropical forest landscape conservation and restoration, climate change mitigation, and food security. Partial scholarships are available on a competitive basis. Scholarship awards cover between 25-75% of the tuition fee. The application deadline is 01 March 2023. Link to the course

National Geographic Society — Animal Behavior and Cognition

The National Geographic Society seeks scientists doing field research on animal behavior and cognition. Selected scientists will receive direct funding of US$800 thousand, as well as substantial additional resources and services over four years. Projects must be research-based, be fieldwork-oriented and focus on wild populations. This funding opportunity does not have any taxonomic or geographic restrictions. Candidates must have at least three years of relevant work experience after the award of their Ph.D. Applicants must submit their projects by 12 April 2023. Link to National Geographic

CMCC Foundation — Climate Change Communication Award

The CMCC Climate Change Communication Award aims to showcase and promote the most creative and impactful initiatives that increase public awareness and disseminate science-based information and data related to climate change. Eligible submissions must present projects, initiatives and tools that communicate climate change through various forms such as arts, theater, video, podcasts, music, photography, journalism, gaming, education, or the use of digital channels and tools. The winning project will receive a cash prize of €5,000. The Award is open to individuals, teams or organizations, regardless of nationality. Eligible submissions must be sent by 15 June 2023. Water Science Policy — Photo Competition

Water Science Policy seeks photo stories on water, partnerships and cooperation for the UN 2023 Water Conference. Submissions should tell stories of how people come together to improve water resources, celebrate life and value nature. Three winners will receive a cash prize. Credit Suisse — Lead 2030 Challenge for SDG 14 (Life Below Water)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 14 seeks solutions that could protect and/or restore existing ocean based resources. The challenge welcomes solutions from entrepreneurs with for-profit enterprises. The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from Credit Suisse. European Institute of Innovation and Technology — Reconnecting with Nature

New European Bauhaus supports European startups or scaleups developing innovative solutions aligned with “reconnecting people with nature.” Companies accepted into the program will benefit from a €10 thousand grant and active support in the form of workshops and events. UNESCO — Award for Biosphere Reserve Management

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) sponsors the Michel Batisse Award for outstanding achievements in biosphere reserve management. The award is US$12 thousand and international travel and allowances in Paris to present the winning case study to the MAB-ICC session. International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre — Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture

The International Sustainable Chemistry Collaborative Centre seeks applications for the Innovation Challenge 2023 – “Sustainable Chemistry and Agriculture.” The challenge addresses innovators developing solutions in the field of fertilizers; nutrient recovery in soil; precision farming; crop protection; water; renewable energy in agriculture; valorization of agricultural waste; and solutions addressing biodiversity loss. The overall Innovation Challenge Winner will receive a cash prize of €15 thousand. Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership — Masters Studies in Sustainable Energy

The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership comprises many of the world’s largest energy companies in partnership with international organizations, development banks, institutes, and foundations. The program sponsors ESED (Education for Sustainable Energy Development) to support outstanding students from developing countries to pursue masters-level studies directly related to sustainable energy. The support is US$10 thousand per year for up to two years. Applications are invited from any developing country on the list of ODA recipients. The next application deadline is 07 April 2023. About the scholarship
