Famae — Cleaner and Accessible Water Challenge

The company Famae seeks an idea, product or service from all over the world to preserve water and make it more accessible to everyone. Solutions should be pragmatic, efficient, durable, and money-saving to make life easier for urban citizens while reducing their environmental footprint. Individuals, teams, businesses, government entities, universities and organizations are eligible to apply. The maximum award is €2 million which may be allocated to a single exceptional project to cover the production of a prototype. Applications will be accepted until 15 February 2019. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Course on Water Resilient Recovery

IHE Delft welcomes applications for a new short course on Water Resilient Recovery, focusing on disaster recovery and long term climate resilient planning. The course consists of an online portion covering much of the theory and background, starting on 10 December 2018. The second part of the course will consist of a 1-week face-to-face training in Singapore. A small number of scholarships are available. Overseas Development Institute — Fellowships 2019-21

The Overseas Development Institute (ODI) is an independent think tank on international development and humanitarian issues. The ODI Fellowship Scheme appoints highly qualified postgraduate economists and statisticians through a competitive selection process. The fellowship scheme is open to candidates of all nationalities who have a master’s degree or PhD in economics, statistics or a related field. Suitable specialised qualifications at postgraduate level include agricultural economics, environmental economics, water and climate, among others. The total support per fellow amounts to approximately £21 thousand in the first year of the fellowship and £23 thousand in the second year. The deadline for applications is 2 December 2018. Conservation International — Indigenous and Traditional Peoples Conservation Fellowship 2019-2020

Conservation International (CI) offers the Indigenous Leaders Conservation Fellowship to leaders from indigenous and traditional peoples. For the 2019-2020 fellowship year, the Indigenous Leaders Conservation Fellowship will support two distinct fellowship tracks: the Indigenous Women’s Fellowship and the Emerging Leaders Fellowship. International Center for Journalists — Eurasia Media Innovation Challenge

The Eurasia Media Innovation Challenge supports projects that produce and distribute high-quality content to combat biased or false information. This includes stories and initiatives about global health or climate change. The program offers grants of between US$5 thousand and US$100 thousand to applicants proposing innovative projects to provide information to Russian-speaking populations in Eurasia. U. S. Agency for International Development — Water for Southern Africa

USAID invites concept papers to implement activities with focus on transforming how people relate to, manage and benefit from water. Annual Program Statement (APS) supports the water sector for the Southern Africa region: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia. USAID intends to provide up to US$2 million to fund all awards made under this APS. Eligibility extends to U.S. and foreign non-profit organizations, businesses, universities, and individuals. African Academy of Sciences — Access to Water and Sanitation

The African Academy of Sciences (The AAS), and partners, announce new funding for technology-based solutions to improve access to water and sanitation. Up to US$100 thousand will be given to projects for two years for technologies that improve access to clean drinking water, household sanitation and hygiene, and address urban pollution. The call is open to organizations. Applicants located in Africa should apply through The AAS while those in the rest of the world should apply through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. World Bank — Support for Women Micro-Entrepreneurs

The World Bank Group invites applications for the “Sustainable Development Goals and Her Competition”. SDGs & Her is an online competition for women micro-entrepreneurs to showcase how they are supporting the SDGs through their business operations. Winners will receive leadership training, mentoring and will be flown to Washington DC, for an event at the World Bank Group-IMF Spring Meetings (April 2019). Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research & Innovation Fellowship

The IUSSTF invites applications for the Water Advanced Research and Innovation (WARI) Fellowship Program. Selected Indian students and scientists will gain access to the research facilities at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. The fellowship covers travel, monthly allowance and insurance for up to 12 months. Professionals and students in Water Science & Engineering are invited to apply. The deadline is 10 November 2018. ASEAN Foundation — Leadership Training for Social Entrepreneurs

The eMpowering Youths Across ASEAN is a partnership programme between Maybank Foundation and ASEAN Foundation that consists of mentoring, regional leadership training, and overseas local community projects. The program aims to improve social and economic well-being of ASEAN communities through social enterprises (note: This may include one or more focus areas of the Terra Viva Grants Directory). This programme is eligible for citizens of ASEAN Member States (19 – 35 years old). The participation in this program is fully funded.
