The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok invites applications for small-scale development projects from organizations in Thailand or Laos. Projects and development activities in the areas of environment, agriculture, health, education, and social services are welcome. The Czech Republic will provide between CZK 200 thousand and CZK 500 thousand per project. Non-profit organizations, educational institutions, or community groups are welcome to apply. The Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers (RGS-IBG) makes grants for geographical research, fieldwork, and teaching that include several awards with deadlines in November. The deadline is 23 November for the Ralph Brown Expedition Award; Thesiger-Oman International Research Fellowships; Hong Kong Research Grant; Walters Kundert Fellowship; Dudley Stamp Memorial Award; Postgraduate Research Awards; and Geographical Club Award. EUTOPIA European University — Science and Innovation Fellowships Program
The EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship Program (EUTOPIA-SIF) aims to enhance the research potential and career perspectives of young researchers from around the world. EUTOPIA-SIF will select 16 post-doctoral fellows on the basis of an individual research project for a 24-month post-doctoral contract at one of the EUTOPIA universities. Candidates are invited to submit research projects in one of the five key research areas, including sustainability (energy, circular economy, mobility, urban planning, material heritage, water management). United People Global — Leadership Training Program
The United People Global (UPG) Sustainability Leadership training program offers young leaders from all over the world the opportunity to participate in an immersive 1-week experience on an island in the USA. UPG seeks young people (18-35 years) who want to take positive action that helps the world tackle a sustainability challenge to achieve any of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 500 young leaders will be selected to participate in an online program and receive a certification after successful completion of the online training. 60 participants will have the chance to attend the complimentary 1-week training in the USA (all costs of the program will be covered). F. M. Kirby Foundation — Social Impact Prize
F. M. Kirby Impact Prize is an annual global prize of US$150 thousand that amplifies and accelerates the work of enterprises working to scale their impact on social or environmental problems around the world. Applicants must have strong evidence of impact over at least 3 years and a plan for how to use the prize to scale that impact in the next 3-5 years. World Food Programme — Innovation Challenge
The Digital Green Innovation Acceleration Program (DGIx) seeks high-impact digital ventures and projects solving some of the most pressing environmental challenges in Benin, Botswana, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, and Togo. Selected ventures, solution providers and consortiums will receive a six-month acceleration program with access to up to US$230 thousand in equity-free funding, coaching, and mentorship support. Azimuth World Foundation — Funding for Indigenous Peoples Grassroots Projects
The Azimuth World Foundation funds projects by grassroots Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities-led organizations aiming to improve access to health and to save water. The maximum grant amount is US$25 thousand. To be eligible for funding, organizations must have a USA tax-exempt status (501 (c)(3)) or a Fiscal Sponsor. Nordic Africa Institute — African Scholar Program
The Nordic Africa Scholar Program supports researchers based in Africa who need time and a conducive environment for finishing and writing up their ongoing research. The Senior Researcher position is offered at the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) for the duration of 12 months. NAI especially welcomes research with relevance to energy, energy transition and resource politics, among others. Trust for Sustainable Living — International Schools Essay Competition
Every year, the essay competition focuses on a different global sustainability challenge. This year’s theme is Nature-based Solutions. Participating students are invited to submit one essay (in English) entitled “How can nature help us achieve the UN SDGs in my community?”. The Grand Prize trophy winner will receive a free international trip to a TSL Summit, including £1000 spending money. Schools have to register a Teacher Champion to participate in the competition.
