The United States Agency for International Development (USAID/India) seeks concept papers for a cooperative agreement from qualified organizations to implement the ‘Strengthening Landscape Management and Conservation’ activity. The activity focuses on three main objectives: (1) Improved management of protected areas and their corridors for wildlife conservation and other ecological benefits; (2) Improved inclusive livelihoods from ecosystem services, and (3) Strengthened conditions for institutionalizing landscape conservation. Fondation Segré — Research Support Grants
Fondation Segré supports on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened animal species (terrestrial, freshwater and marine) and their habitats across Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East. Research Support Grants have a maximum grant size of €5 thousand to support young and early scientists in their research to improve knowledge on threatened species and their role in natural ecosystems. Snow Leopard Network — Small Grants
The ‘With Snow Leopards’ Small Grant (SLSG) provides financial support and promotes snow leopard research and conservation across the snow leopard range. In 2022, SLSG will support 1-2 projects addressing Snow leopard research and conservation, public educational programs to promote snow leopard conservation, and research projects that address critical questions related to snow leopard ecology. Selected projects will be awarded between up to US$15 thousand. The proposed project duration should not exceed 12 months. European Commission — Awareness Raising in Renewable Energy
The European Commission (EC) seeks to increase public and private-sector awareness of renewable energy & energy efficiency policies contributing to sustainable energy supply, consumption and security in Vietnam. The program will fund initiatives with up to €3.5 million. Eligibility to apply extends to non-profit civil society organizations or international organizations established in Vietnam or in a Member State of the European Union. Government of India — India-Japan Cooperative Science Program
The India-Japan Cooperative Science Programme (IJCSP) aims to promote bilateral scientific collaboration between Indian and Japanese scientists. Applications are invited from Indian researchers/scientists to submit proposals for Joint Research Projects and Joint Workshops/Seminars. Areas for cooperation for research include Life Science & Agriculture, among others. The duration of the projects can be up to two years. Genesis Charitable Trust — Grants for Local Sustainable Development
The Genesis Charitable Trust makes grants to help individuals and communities in developing countries to improve their standards of living. The Trust favors projects that aim for long-term income generation and self-sufficiency, especially projects making a positive impact on communities currently beyond the reach of traditional government or market-based solutions. Past projects include examples in small-scale agriculture, renewable energy, and fisheries — among other focus areas. The Trust does not set a minimum or maximum grant value, although grants generally do not exceed US$300 thousand per project. Grants are restricted to nonprofit organizations in eligible developing countries, or applicants that are associated with nonprofit organizations from the UK, US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or Singapore. The ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AI-RTF) aims to promote cooperation in science, technology and innovation through joint research activities in environmental management, climate change adaptation, agricultural technologies, alternative energy, biodiversity, biotechnology, and others. The Fellowship provides ASEAN young researchers with the opportunity to work at an Indian research/academic institution. The duration of the Fellowship will be for a period of 2-6 months. Fellows receive full financial assistance, including international travel, accommodation, meals, and a one-time grant of up to INR 40 thousand for research expenses. The BRICS Young Scientist Forum seeks to strengthen existing bilateral and multilateral relations as well as cooperation among its member countries Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. BRICS invites proposals from young scientists with projects in the thematic areas of biomedicine, low-carbon technology, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and modern agriculture for the 7th BRICS-YSF Conclave in China. All participants will have the opportunity to attend the activities of the Science Communication Program. The program is open to scientists, engineers, technologists, innovators, science journalists, science professionals and researchers. Earth Journalism Network — Stop Spillover Story Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers story grants to journalists from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, and Vietnam to report on viral zoonotic diseases and efforts to prevent their spillover from animals to humans. EJN aims to support the production of stories that raise awareness about viral zoonotic diseases and drive conversation among communities and policy makers. Applications are open to journalists working in any medium (online, print, television, radio). Freelance reporters and staff reporters from international, national, local or community-based outlets are eligible.
