SDG Impact Accelerator (SDGia) is a global accelerator for entrepreneurs and startups working on products and services in the field of financial inclusion in Bangladesh or digital agriculture in Uganda. SDGia Digital Agriculture and Financial Inclusion calls are open for teams from all around the world. Selected teams will receive equity-free grants of up to US$15 thousand and, in the event that their product or service is selected for implementation in Bangladesh or Uganda, teams may also receive impact investment. Startup Grind — Startup Summit
Startup Grind invites participants for the Startup Summit (22 February 2021). Startup Summit is a virtual bootcamp for startups and provides free access to workshops on fundraising, networking, and investor matchmaking. Participants of the Summit gain free access to the 2021 Global Conference, a 4-day virtual event for startups from around the world. Tata Trusts — Social Alpha Agritech Challenge
The Social Alpha Agritech Challenge 2.0 seeks innovators and start-ups with science and technology-based solutions that have the potential to create an impact in the lives of smallholder farmers in India. The winners receive support in the areas of product development, testing, pilots, product validation, product management and market strategy. Additional funding will be decided on a case-to-case basis. The challenge is open to individuals, teams, social enterprises, nonprofits, and companies registered in India. Elrha — Adoption Challenge WASH Innovations
Elrha seeks local organizations interested in adopting innovations from their WASH Innovation catalogue into their programs. Funding of up to £150 thousand will be made available to cover the adoption costs. Eligibility extends to civil society organizations and NGOs who are a registered entity in the country of implementation. There are no geographical restrictions but innovations have to be implemented in humanitarian settings. Interested organizations have to apply by 25 January 2021. Link
European Commission — Climate-Neutral Cities
The European Commission (EC) seeks partners to develop a one-stop shop platform that provides technical, regulatory, financial and socio-economic expertise to cities for developing and implementing their climate action plans in support of a climate-neutral economy by 2050. The project can involve research organizations, academia, social entrepreneurs, NGOs, national and local authorities and citizens. The platform should facilitate the coordination of ongoing European activities in the area of climate neutrality for cities. Habitat for Humanity — Increasing Resilience to Earthquakes and Typhoons
Habitat for Humanity seeks innovative and cost-effective solutions to make homes at extreme risk in the event of natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes or typhoons) stronger and more resilient. This challenge is designed specifically for methods that offer solutions to low-income homeowners living in high-risk areas, for example, inexpensive ideas for adding foundations to low-income housing. Habitat for Humanity offers an award of US$25 thousand to make awarded solutions freely available to other non-profit organizations to help improve the state of low-income housing worldwide. Solution Search — Water Pollution & Behavior Change Contest
Rare’s Center for Behavior & the Environment and partners seek existing solutions that are changing behaviors to help solve the world’s most challenging environmental problems. For this year’s contest, Solutions Search looks for promising approaches that are shifting people’s behavior toward cleaner, healthier water ecosystems. Contest entrants get access to capacity building, workshops, and networking opportunities to further refine and scale their solution. The overall winner will receive US$25 thousand, among numerous other prizes, including a US$5 thousand prize awarded to the best early entrant (for submissions prior to 30 November). World Vision seeks affordable sanitation solutions for rural single families living in the poorest areas of the world. Applicants are invited to submit new ideas, concepts, and approaches to attack the lack of adequate toilets and latrines. Socialab — 4Revs Innovation Challenge
4Revs Innovation Challenge is a global call for solutions in food, water, resources, climate change and energy that will help humanity solve survival challenges in one generation (2020-2050). Innovators are invited to submit solutions that are already in the market and contribute to at least one of the 4 Revolutions: Sustainable Agriculture and Food Supply; Water Conservation and Management; Ecosystem Restoration; Climate Change and Sustainable Energy. New Zealand Embassy Fund — Call for Proposals 2020-2021
The New Zealand Embassy Fund supports community projects in small scale that contribute to increase the wellbeing of a community in Argentina or Paraguay. The Embassy will support activities and projects in the areas of climate change and resilience, economic inclusion, gender equality, and health issues related to COVID-19 pandemic. The maximum amount per project will be up to NZD $25 thousand. Recipients will be non-governmental organizations and community groups committed to non-profit development activities.
