Earth Journalism Network — Mediterranean Media Initiative Story Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) supports the production of in-depth stories covering current and emerging marine issues in the Mediterranean. EJN offers up to 10 story grants with a budget of up to €1,000 each for this round of story grants to support reporting on illegal fishing and the biodiversity crisis in the Mediterranean region, as well as solutions to marine issues. Applicants can be from any country that borders the Mediterranean Sea. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Private Sector for Food Systems
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) makes grants to strengthen partnerships between the private sector and smallholder producers to stimulate investments in inclusive and climate-resilient agricultural value chains. The selected entity will participate in the co-design and implementation of the project, fostering effective collaborations between private financial institutions, governments, value chain actors, financial institutions, food system actors, and the IFAD, with the goal of advancing sustainable and inclusive rural development. Startupbootcamp — Energy and Sustainability Accelerator
The Startupbootcamp Energy and Sustainability Accelerator provides access to funding, supporting the development of innovative solutions in climate change, resource conservation, and renewable energy. The accelerator supports startups developing solutions with the potential to address some of the world’s most pressing challenges in energy and sustainability. Participants have access to a 3-month in-person accelerator designed to enable growth at speed, and US$50 thousand cash investment per startup to cover expenses during the program, plus US$50 thousand in-kind services. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA) funds a range of climate change mitigation and adaptation activities focused on scaling up the transition to an equitable and resilient net-zero economy. The Accelerator is a buy-in mechanism that helps USAID missions, bureaus, and independent offices develop and manage climate finance-related partnerships, strengthen enabling environments, and advance learning. Organizations interested in joining the CFIN or becoming a climate finance partner eligible to receive support from the Accelerator, have to complete a partnership intake form. The WFP Innovation Accelerator aims to identify, support, and scale high-impact innovations that enhance climate adaptation in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt. The World Food Programme invites innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers with groundbreaking solutions that drive resilience, enhance climate adaptability, and promote sustainable development in affected communities to apply. More than US$ 1 million in equity-free funding will be available for 8-10 startups. Earth Journalism Network — Grants for Video Content Production
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) seeks to boost video content production and distribution of information to build awareness about renewable energy in all states of India. To improve public awareness about the country’s efforts to decarbonize and scale its renewable energy capacity, EJN is providing fellowships for the production of video content. EJN will provide remuneration and mentorship to each selected applicant. The budget should cover reporting and production costs amounting to a maximum of INR 2.75 lakhs for a video of around 8 minutes in length. Proposals from all states in India are eligible. The Eugenio Garza Lagüera Entrepreneurship Institute invites applications for an acceleration program to develop capabilities and provide resources to startups with high business potential and climate impact. Entrepreneurs must have a product or service that aligns with at least one of the following impact areas: Energy access and generation; Low emission transport; Buildings, cities, industries, and appliances; Forestry and land use resources. The program includes a grant without dilution from equity to €100 thousand and mentorship from experts. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in Tanzania
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) releases a call for Letters of Inquiry for organizations that address the conservation of biodiversity in light of climate change in the Indian Ocean Islands of Tanzania and Zanzibar. CEPF expects to make between 6-10 awards with a maximum value of US$200 thousand. Institute of International Education — Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowships
The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program offers short-term fellowships to African-born academics at universities in the USA and Canada to collaborate with African universities in research, curriculum co-development, and/or graduate student training. Project requests to host scholars are submitted by universities and other higher education institutions in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.
