Inter-American Foundation — Grants for NGOs in Latin America and Caribbean
The Inter-American Foundation (IAF) makes grants to non-governmental and community-based organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean to raise the living conditions of disadvantaged populations, and to advance other social goals. The Foundation’s grant-making interests include grassroots projects in agriculture; clean water and sanitation; community conservation; and local management of natural resources (forests, fisheries, etc.). Fondation Franklinia — Conservation of Globally Threatened Trees
The Foundation Franklinia accepts project proposals focused on in-situ conservation of threatened trees in Latin America and the Caribbean. Eligibility extends to any organization with well-established expertise and efficiency in plant conservation. Projects must aim at improving the conservation status of globally threatened tree species listed on the IUCN Red List of threatened species. Funding from the Foundation favors conservation projects with reasonable budgets in relation to proposed activities. A minimum of 20-50% of co-funding will be required. PAGES — LAC Mobility Fellowship
PAGES runs an International Mobility Research Fellowship Program for Latin American and Caribbean early-career scientists on past global changes. The program aims to contribute to the development of collaborative research and the promotion of paleoscience networks in Latin America and the Caribbean. The fellowship supports Latin American and Caribbean early-career scientists pursuing international research experience in paleoscience and is intended to support costs associated with international travel and living expenses while abroad. Ashoka — Young Changemakers
Ashoka identifies and supports teenagers who start their own initiatives for addressing social and environmental problems. Selected Changemakers are inducted into a global community and gain access to co-leadership bootcamps, media partnerships, public speaking platforms, exposure visits, strategic allies and more opportunities to grow and to influence youth culture in their countries. Candidates must be under 20 years of age to participate. Ashoka offers youth related activities in Nigeria, Brazil, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and the United States.
