Pacific Development and Conservation Trust — Community Projects in the Pacific Islands
New Zealand’s Pacific Development and Conservation Trust makes grants for conservation, cultural heritage, development, and goodwill in the Pacific Islands. The priority is community projects, including conservation projects that involve representative, endangered, threatened, or unique habitats and species. Eligibility for grants extends to citizens of New Zealand and eligible Pacific countries and territories. Most past grants range from NZ$2 thousand to NZ$50 thousand. King Baudouin Foundation — Fonds Ernest Solvay
The Ernest Solvay Fund provides grants to individuals and organizations implementing a non-commercial project that is intended to promote scientific and technological training and development, both in Belgium and abroad. Projects may focus on both education and entrepreneurship in areas such as chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and earth sciences. Financial support of up to €10 thousand will be provided. International Marine Animal Trainers Association — Research Grants
The International Marine Animal Trainers Association (IMATA) provides financial support for investigations that advance the humane care and handling of marine animals by fostering communication between professionals who serve marine animal science through training, public display, research, husbandry, conservation, and education. Grants of up to US$3 thousand are for projects of one year. The Principal Investigator or co-PI must be a member of IMATA. The association accepts proposals all year. Link
Energy Foundation — China Sustainable Energy Program
The Foundation’s China Sustainable Energy Program makes grants for planning, policies, research, and training to improve energy efficiency and to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions in China. Grant eligibility extends to organizations in China and the USA. They include research institutes and foundations; universities; professional organizations, societies, and academies; energy technology centers; policy groups and think tanks; state-owned energy companies; regulatory agencies; and NGOs. Nordic Africa Institute — African Scholar Program
The Nordic Africa Scholar Program supports researchers based in Africa who need time and a conducive environment for finishing and writing up their ongoing research. The Senior Researcher position is offered at the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) for the duration of 12 months. NAI especially welcomes research with relevance to energy, energy transition and resource politics, among others. Roots — Micro-Grants
The Roots Micro-Grants Program supports youth-led projects to empower voices from the Global South to advocate for climate justice. The program provides grants of up to US$10 thousand to initiatives that prioritize climate justice and social equity. The program will provide grants for between 10-15 grassroots youth-led initiatives, with a focus on groups in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia, and South Asia. 776 Foundation — Tackling Climate Change
The 776 Fellowship is a two-year, full-time program. Fellows will receive a US$100 thousand grant over two years to work on projects to fight climate change instead of pursuing a university degree. Fellows must be ages 18 to 24 and can live anywhere in the world. Fellows will have access to founder networks, various programming, and access to a venture fund’s operating system.
