The TED Fellows Program provides transformational support to an international community of visionaries who collaborate across disciplines (many within the thematic fields of the Terra Viva Grants Directory) to create positive change around the world. TED Fellows are chosen based on remarkable achievement, character, and their innovative approach to solving the world’s tough problems. Selected fellows participate in professional training and mentoring with public relations experts, and attend regional meet-ups and retreats for conservation and exchange of ideas. Mirova — Nature-based Solutions
The Nature+ Accelerator Fund aims to support nature-based innovative solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change whilst delivering positive impacts both on biodiversity and the wellbeing of local communities. The Fund will invest in projects across the following four categories: Terrestrial Conservation and Restoration; Marine Conservation and Coastal Resilience; Sustainable Agriculture; and Nature-Based Innovation (e.g., drone technology, conservation-focused smart apps, etc.). Projects with an early-stage concept may request between US$100-200 thousand, projects that have a proof-of-concept can receive between US$1-2 million, and successful projects looking for follow-on funding to scale-up will receive up to US$5 million. Applicants must be seeking commercial proposals – the funding delivered will be investment capital subject to repayment and returns. The application window closes 31 August 2022. SDG Academy — Free Online Courses on Sustainable Development
The SDG Academy (edX) offers graduate-level courses on sustainable development for participants around the world. Thematic areas range from sustainable cities to sustainable food systems to climate action. SDG Academy courses can be audited for free or participants can choose to receive a Verified Certificate for a small fee. The Academy offers financial assistance for learners who want to earn Verified Certificates but who may not be able to afford the fee. All courses are interactive and self-paced. Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development — Sustainable Development Goals Monitoring
The Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) invites women’s rights and feminist organizations to apply for sub-grants. APWLD will support up to 8 organizations to do monitoring of the SDGs implementation in their country. The aim is to develop the capacity of feminist movements and women’s rights organizations to conduct evidence-based advocacy for the monitoring and review of the Sustainable Development Goals. APWLD will provide each partner organization with a sub-grant of between US$15 thousand to US$18 thousand. Slovak Republic — Small Grants for Projects in the Ukraine
SlovakAid supports small-scale projects in various sectors, including the sustainable use of natural resources. This includes projects with focus on drinking water supply, wastewater treatment, raising environmental awareness, alternative energy sources, increasing resilience to natural disasters, including climate change, soil protection, halting the loss of biodiversity, protecting ecosystems, and restoring degraded ecosystems. The current call supports local projects in the Ukraine in accordance with the Strategy of the Slovak Republic for International Development Cooperation. The maximum financial support per project is €10 thousand with a maximum project duration of 6-12 months. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations and local authorities in the Ukraine. SDSN Youth — Global Innovation and Impact Awards
SDSN Youth mobilizes youth to the forefront of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by connecting young people to pathways of understanding, collaboration and action. The Global Innovation and Impact Awards aim to recognize and mobilize leading solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals. The Awards target young changemakers worldwide building solutions for the SDGs. The submissions must have a measurable positive impact on achieving at least one of the 17 SDGs. SDSN Youth will work collaboratively with the awardees to provide seed funding, mentorship and access to exclusive opportunities. University of Science and Technology of Hanoi — Masters Studies 2022-2023
The University of Science and Technology of Hanoi offers Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs in subject areas that include energy; water, environment, oceanography; and several others. Eligibility to apply extends to Vietnamese and international students graduated from relevant training fields in or before 2022, with good academic results and ability in English. For highly qualified applicants, merit-based scholarships and/or need-based fellowships cover up to 100% of tuition fees and living expenses. Entrepreneurship Campus — Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition
The Entrepreneurship Campus invites innovative ideas for the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition to create a culture for entrepreneurship and implement one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Participants are invited to submit their innovative ideas and projects with a societal impact. Entries will be posted on the competition website and are subject to online commenting and public voting. Winners receive a virtual badge and a certificate. United States Agency for International Development — Environmental and Economic Reactivation Partnerships
The Ecuador New Environmental and Economic Reactivation Partnerships Initiative is designed to increase seascape conservation, combat illegal fishing, reduce ocean plastic pollution, achieve sustainable forests management, and support forest carbon sequestration and economic reactivation. USAID/Ecuador seeks implementing partners from the private sector and civil society. This includes private businesses, foundations, non-profit NGOs, and private educational institutions. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit — Climate Innovation Contest 2022
The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) launches the Climate Innovation Fund to award innovative ideas that will help improve the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in Ethiopia. Projects should increase the sustainable use of natural resources, create job opportunities through the use of biodiversity, and help restore degraded landscapes. GIZ will contribute up to €50 thousand worth of investments. GIZ invites start-ups and small businesses in the sectors of technology (app developers), food production, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and timber to apply.
