Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation in the Mediterranean Basin (Lebanon)

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) for small grants (up to US$20 thousand) for projects that support the sustainable management of water catchments through integrated approaches for the conservation of threatened freshwater biodiversity in Lebanon. Eligibility extends to non-governmental organizations, community groups, universities and private enterprises. The ecosystem profile technical summary is available in English and French. University of East Anglia — Online Course: Environmental Justice

The University of East Anglia (UEA) offers a 5 week free online course on environmental justice and environmental problems featuring topics like deforestation, biodiversity loss, climate change and other environmental issues. National Geographic Society — Covid-19 Science Fund

The National Geographic Society provides funding for projects focused on how humanity and the natural world have reacted to and are living through the unparalleled circumstances created by COVID-19. The fund invites research, conservation, and technology projects on the following two topics: (1) Community-based and inclusive conservation, and (2) Impacts of tourism changes on cultural heritage sites and wildlife. Funding requests of up to US$50 thousand will be accepted for review. All application materials must be in English, and applicants must be at least 18 years old. The deadline is 31 March 2021. Government of India — Indo-Italian Joint Research Program

The Governments of India and Italy invite joint research projects by researchers of both countries. The aim is to encourage scientific and technological cooperation between Italy and India. Proposals for joint research in the following scientific areas (relevant to TVG) are eligible: Ecological and Environmental Modeling; Water Management; and Disaster Risk Management. Global Environment Facility — Small Grants Program: Jordan

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) invites proposals from non-governmental organizations and community-based organizations to submit project proposals on territories and areas protected by local communities. GEF makes COVID-19 relief grants to local communities in conserved areas in Jordan. Grants are up to US$50 thousand for a total duration of 24 months. Eisenhower Fellowships — Africa Program to Fight Climate Change

Eisenhower Fellowships (EF) seeks applicants for its Fall 2021 Africa Program. The program recruits dynamic change agents primarily from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and Zimbabwe and brings them to the United States for a professional transformational experience. Ideal candidates are between the ages 32-45 and work in fields actively confronting the consequences of climate change, including agriculture, environmental protection, water quality, food security and energy, among others. J.M. Kaplan Fund — J.M.K. Innovation Prize

The J.M. Kaplan Fund supports innovation in the fields of environment, heritage conservation, and social justice. The J.M.K. Innovation Prize is particularly designed for early-stage ideas in pilot and prototype phases. The prize provides up to three years of support at US$50 thousand per year, as well as US$25 thousand for technical assistance or project expenses. The Fund makes grants to non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organizations in the USA and to organizations in other countries that have equivalent charitable status. Global Giving — Crowdfunding Training Opportunity

GlobalGiving is an online platform to raise funds for grassroots projects worldwide across many sectors and themes – including in agriculture, energy, environment, and natural resources. GlobalGiving announces a new Accelerator program that will offer virtual training in online fundraising and participation in a two-week crowdfunding campaign. The program is open to nonprofit organizations anywhere in the world. Organizations that successfully complete the GlobalGiving Accelerator by raising at least US$5 thousand total from a minimum 40 different donors will earn permanent membership with GlobalGiving, in addition to $30 thousand in matching funding and bonus prizes. Techstars — Global Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs

Techstars provides funding and mentorship programs for entrepreneurs. Techstars Impact Accelerator is for for-profit founders building tech to solve social & environmental problems. Programs include Techstars Farm to Fork Accelerator focusing on the tech/digital side of food and agriculture, and Techstars Sustainability Accelerator for entrepreneurs with commercially viable technologies that can rapidly scale to help sustainably provide food and water and address global issues like climate change, among many others.
