Siemenpuu Foundation — Biocultural Rights of Indigenous Communities

Siemenpuu Foundation calls for project proposals to support the biocultural rights of indigenous communities and their biocultural life-heritages as adapted to their local environments. The aim is to strengthen indigenous communities’ biocultural diversity and their rights to live in ways which do not threaten or weaken biodiversity and ecosystems. The range of project funding is €30 thousand to €100 thousand for projects with a maximum duration of 24 months. International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Small Grants Program

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) supports regional transboundary programs to address critical challenges in climate change, food security, water and related disasters, land use, and air quality. The small grants program is to help grow the network of government agencies, universities, and institutions in the HKH region that utilize geospatial tools and information to improve decision-making. SERVIR-HKH expects to award 4-5 grants. Individual grants will not exceed US$30 thousand. Applications will be accepted from institutions based in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. U.S. Embassy in Madagascar — Workshops for Environmental Stewardship

The U.S. Embassy in Madagascar announces funding for lectures, seminars, training, or workshops improving environmental stewardship, sustainable management of natural resources, and biodiversity conservation. Funding will range from US$2 thousand to US$5 thousand per project. The program supports projects proposed by US, Malagasy, or Comorian educational, cultural, and other non-profit organizations or individuals. The deadline for applications is 30 April 2022. Details

U.S. Embassy Mogadishu — Small Grants Program

The U.S. Embassy announces assistance for community projects in Somalia. Priority areas include one on mitigating the effects of climate change. Projects should focus on educating the public about the effects of climate change and raise awareness about efforts to mitigate its impact. The average contribution is US$25 thousand per project. The Embassy encourages applications from US, Somali, and international non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and individuals. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2022. U.S Embassy Bujumbura — Small Grants Program

The U.S. Embassy announces an open competition for organizations and individuals to submit applications to carry out a project in Burundi. Priority program areas include projects that mitigate the effects of climate change, promote minimizing waste and regenerating our resources, and support protecting the natural environment and sustainable agriculture. Programs and projects will be funded with up to US$20 thousand. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations, academic institutions and individuals. SADC Secretariat — Water Fund

The SADC Regional Fund for Water Infrastructure and Basic Sanitation (SADC Water Fund) is the key financing facility for the development and integration of the water sector in the Southern African region. The Fund finances infrastructure projects to improve the supply for drinking water and water for agricultural use for the poor. The Fund will finance major service contracts only. Therefore, only projects requiring a grant of a minimum of €2 million and a maximum of €4 million will be considered for support. Eligibility extends to governments of SADC Member States and their agencies (water utilities, local government, municipalities, etc.) and regional institutions promoted by governments. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Regional Implementation Partner Madagascar and the Indian Ocean Islands

The CEPF aims to invest in biodiversity conservation projects targeting Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and the Seychelles. CEPF anticipates to support the development and oversight of a portfolio of approximately 100 grants. CEPF seeks to partner with an organization to serve as the Regional Implementation Team. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs and other civil society organizations with substantial experience in climate change adaptation and biodiversity conservation. World Wildlife Fund — Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Grant

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) invites applications for the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Grant. The grant aims to provide financial support to teams and institutions working in Kenya, Tanzania, and Madagascar focusing on enhancing capacities to address environmental and social impact assessment capacity building needs with an emphasis on local communities. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service — Wetlands and Migratory Birds in Mexico

The Mexico Standard Program promotes the protection and restoration of wetland ecosystems and other habitats for wetlands-associated migratory birds and other fish and wildlife. Grants under this call generally range from US$50 thousand to US$700 thousand. Eligibility extends to individuals, corporations, government agencies, universities, and international organizations. Association of Zoos and Aquariums — Conservation Grants Fund 2022

The AZA’s Conservation Grants Fund makes grants for animal health; animal welfare; conservation education; field conservation and/or reintroduction; management and/or breeding; and research. The principal investigator in a grants application must be an AZA member. Many grants are awarded to collaborations among AZA-accredited institutions; government wildlife agencies; academia; and conservation NGOs.
