Beyond the Grid Fund for Africa (BGFA) aims to incentivize private off-grid energy service companies to scale up their innovative sustainable businesses and accelerate access to affordable and clean off-grid energy in Mozambique. The BGFA invites off-grid energy companies to submit proposals for clean and affordable energy solutions in peri-urban and rural areas. Grants are expected to be between €1 million and €2 million, depending on the country. The application process is divided into two stages: (1) Pre-Qualification and (2) Final Application. Right Sharing of World Resources — Seed Grants for Women’s Microcredit Projects
Right Sharing of World Resources (RSWR) makes seed grants to support income-generating projects led by women. RSWR’s current priorities are grassroots organizations selected states and districts of India; and Quaker groups in Kenya and Sierra Leone. Projects include many in the production and sale of fruits and vegetables; meat and milk; grain crops; fish; fuelwood; and other enterprises associated with small-scale agriculture and rural livelihoods. Grants are usually US$5,500 (but many are considerably smaller) for a one-year project. The application deadline is 31 December each year. Inter-American Development Bank — Regional Public Goods
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) calls for proposals on regional public goods that have the potential to generate significant shared benefits. Proposals that address cross-cutting issues, such as climate change and environmental sustainability (among other themes), are particularly welcomed. Projects should be tri-national, or exceptionally bi-national. The size of the grant typically averages US$500 thousand per project for a maximum of 3 years. Counterpart resources are required. Ashley Lashley Foundation — Global Climate Fund
The Global HEY Climate Fund aims to assist three young climate activists with their projects. The selected projects will receive US$5 thousand each. Applicants must submit proposals or ideas surrounding the topics: Climate Change and Health, Climate Change, Water Conservation and Food Security, Solid Waste Management, and Climate Change. European Commission — Agro-Forestry for Timor-Leste
The European Commission launches a call for proposals to promote green development and climate action in Timor-Leste. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement from qualified entities to implement the Afghanistan Integrated Youth Activity (AIYA) program. AIYA aims to empower Afghan youth, particularly girls and young women, with market-relevant technical and soft skills to enhance income, food security, and economic resilience. Blue Action Fund — Eastern Tropical Pacific Region
The Blue Action Fund announces a new open call for grant proposals focusing on the Eastern Tropical Pacific Region. The Fund provides individual grants to selected conservation projects with focus on marine protected areas (MPAs) to support the conservation of biodiversity and projects that seek to enhance livelihood conditions and food security. The Fund will award grants of €2-4 million.
